McCain: People voted 'mostly for Sarah Palin' last year

Former Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain has no illusions about the 2008 White House race.

"God bless them," McCain said Thursday at the Heritage Foundation when reminded of the tens of millions of people who voted for him last year.

"Over 50 million people voted for me and Sarah Palin - mostly for Sarah Palin," McCain said to an eruption of laughter. But "there was a sizable majority of the other party returned to Congress. And, elections have consequences. Elections have consequences. And these consequences we are seeing now in full display."

Drum roll please... the 150th member joins the Network!

Seems like just a few short months ago we were thrilled to have ten members. Oh wait, it was just a few short months ago! The Read My Lipstick Network came into being during the latter part of the 2008 election cycle. We've lost a few blogs along the way as some who fought for McCain/Palin got discouraged after the election. Temporarily! They'll be back. For every one discouraged blogger a hundred seem to be taking up the cause these days. The energy is fantastic.

Today I announce our 150th member! Fireworks please! Drum roll! 150 gun salute. Whatever. It's neat.

Our newest member is cool with shades. She wears 'em day and night as you'll see when you check out her blog.

Rosie Shades - http://rosieshades.blogspot.com/

I love the shades and I particularly like the background in remembrance of Sept. 11th. She has some very neat stuff on the sidebar (including our blogroll), too.

If you'll scroll down her blog entries you'll see the "Honk if you're paying my mortgage" bumper sticker with a link so you can get your very own. (I want one that says "Honk if I'm paying your mortgage")

Enough about all the extras. You're going to like her writing, too!

Here are a few samples:

Modern Day Eugenics
Welcome to the world of Progressive Eugenics...
Here's a great little tutorial on eugenics if you're not familiar with it.
This new executive order reversing the ban on taxpayer funded research on humans, coupled with the plan Obama has for creating government funded/socialized medicine makes me wonder what these progressives have in mind. It all seems OK as long as you're not the one that's targeted. Right now it's embryos. It's not the first time we've removed morality from science and plunged headlong into ideas that were un American and ungodly at the expense of the innocent so don't kid yourself into believing we're immune.

The Bubbly Fed
There never should have been a central/federal bank in the united states. That was something our founders had fled from. Seeing that the government thinks they can do everything more productively than we can, it hustled in the Federal Reserve bank to supposedly end inflation forever. As usual, the government failed. If you haven't studied up about the Federal reserve bank and the reason we were forced to leave the gold standard, you should.

Growin' Growin' Growin' --- Another Great Member of Read My Lipstick Network

We are already an enthusiastic, positive force for the values that brought America into being, and now we have yet another super blogger joining us! Good Works Work (great title!) is our newest blogging member. Here's the link to Dawn's blog: http://goodworkswork.blogspot.com/

Be sure to add her to the blogs you follow (bottom of Dashboard, left, for Blogger blogs) or subscribe to, or add the blog as a favorite or somehow figure out a way to support Good Works Work (and all of our other member websites and blogs).

Still can't update the blogroll, just checked. We have so many new blogs to add!

Join us on Team Sarah (we have our own group) and I'm in the process of setting up a Read My Lipstick Network on Facebook. I'm probably going to need to ask for a volunteer to monitor Facebook, not one of my usual haunts, but we were invited and I hate to say no to any method that'll get the words you're writing out to the world.

Pick up the phone and call random people if you can't get hold of a list of voters! If you're Republican, call your local Party or the state Party and ask to help. We only have a few days left and they are critical days!!! Go on-line to www.johnmccain.com and click on the make phone calls button on the right side of the screen. They give you an easy script to follow. If you're shy about calling, do it during the day when everyone is at work and you can just leave a message. It's better to talk to people, but every thing you do is going to help. There are some counties where one, just one, vote will make it a John McCain-Sarah Palin win!!!

More on the L.A. Times Video, Obama, Ayers and Khalidi

Posted on one of the Read My Lipstick Network blogs (Go Sarah Palin, http://gosarahpalin.blogspot.com):

GET US THE TAPE THE L.A. TIMES REFUSES TO RELEASE, AND WE'LL GIVE YOU CASH! By Binyamin L. Jolkovsky JewishWorldReview.com For the last week, this site has been receiving mail -- lots of mail -- asking that we somehow shame the Los Angeles Times into releasing a videotape they admit to having that shows then Illinois state Sen. Barak Obama praising Rashid Khalidi, the one-time PLO spokesman/adviser during a 2003 farewell party in Chicago. Shortly thereafter, he became the head of the Middle East Studies Department at Columbia University.

Read My Lipstick Network Continues to Expand!

"Let's Get It Right" has joined our growing group of bloggers! I am always uplifted when I read our member blogs and see the number of quality individuals out there working hard to preserve our values and freedoms. You all give me great hope for the future of our country, and our world.

Here's the link to Carlos Echevarria's blog: http://carlosechevarria.blogspot.com/

Please add it to your blog lists, your favorite lists and be sure to read his blog.

We're getting down to the wire! I'd like to encourage everyone to visit www.wam08.org and sign up to listen to their conference call tomorrow night at 8 p.m. Great words, great marching orders!

If you're Catholic, go check out www.catholicvote.com and sign up. You'll get an invitation to listen to a webcast or phone call tomorrow night at 9 p.m. from www.priestsforlife.org. The focus of these groups is to elect a pro-life President. If that is an issue of importance to you, please sign up and see what you can do to help their efforts in these last few days.

I've been visiting the McCain website and making phone calls when I have a few minutes. I have had some great conversations with people in Wisconsin and Florida thus far. It's encouraging to DO something positive to reach voters. We're not alone, we are the majority, we need to raise our voices and put every effort towards getting John McCain and Sarah Palin into the White House!!!

ANOTHER Fantastic New Member

So many, many are coming out to support the wonderful Sarah Palin and the next great President of the United States, John McCain! If you've been on Team Sarah lately it is growing so fast it crashed the system for a short period of time! I just heard a bit more about the polls on this morning's talk shows and, although I discounted them before, I really discount them now!

One thing I found interesting was a short piece on the actual coverage from the media on the campaign. It showed what we have all known, Barack Obama gets a pass and John McCain has been dumped on to the tune of almost triple the percentages. Duh. We don't need an independent group telling us that, we've all turned off mainstream media because of their open bias.

Anyway, we have a new member! Please add Meet the Real Sarah Palin (http://sarah-palin-2008.blogspot.com/) to your sidebars, blog rolls, blog lists, the blogs you're following, etc.

Our blogroll is working but we're still unable to add blogs to it or make any changes. Some nasty stupid hacker took it down, they got it back but they're unable to let us make changes right now. They're re-working the system to try and fix the areas hackers can hit.

As soon as it's back up we'll get the last four or five new members added.

Call your friends, call your enemies! Get the vote out for John McCain. Let the silent majority speak and let's not lose our country to someone who's going to take from those who've worked their tails off to make the American dream a reality so they can give it to those who live with their hands out.

I'm not talking about those who work and try, I'm talking about those who expect hand-outs and live on them. All statistics show that Republicans GIVE more than Democrats. We are a caring group of folks who live what the other side talks. There's a false picture that has been painted about us that has nothing to do with reality.

Time is short and John McCain needs your enthusiasm! The country and those American values that built this country need your enthusiasm!

Another Great New Member of RMLN!

We'd like to welcome Right Wing Chicks to our fantastic list of bloggers! Here's a link to the blog: http://rightwingchicky.wordpress.com/. Please add them to your lists, favorites, subscriptions, etc.

Here's the latest post:

Fairness Doctrine - not so fair is it.
Until yesterday I had never even heard of the Fairness Doctrine. Then in two separate instances yesterday I heard mention of it, so that must mean I should look into it and see what it is and then see if it is good or bad...

On another note... our blogroll.

The blogroll is still there, but the site is still on hold while they update things and try to make it hacker-proof. I'm checking it regularly to see when I can get in to update our list. If you're new to the Network and haven't seen your blog on the blogroll, please accept our apology and know that we'll get them on there as soon as the blogroll site is back in business (they promise it will be soon).

In the meantime...

You can "follow" all blogs if you're on Blogger. Scroll down to the bottom of the page on your Dashboard and add all the websites please.

Add all of our blog members to your blog lists on your sidebar.

Copy the top of posts to other links of interest in the network and link like I just did at the top of this blog (Fairness doctrine post from Right Wing Chicks).

Last but not least:

Talk to people in the grocery line, go up to people you've never talked to in church, talk to your doctor's receptionist, and get them to VOTE for John McCain and Sarah Palin! Give the server at your favorite restaurant a great tip: Vote for John McCain and Sarah Palin!

ACORN and their ilk are out doing their best to steal the election. We need to show them that good can prevail and that doing it the right way, the honest way, can WIN!

Still growing! Welcome to "A Christian Homeschool Mom for Sarah" blog!

We're pleased to annouce yet another new member to our growing list of member bloggers! Please add "A Christian Homeschool Mom for Sarah" (http://christianhomeschoolmomforsarah.blogspot.com/) to your various lists and be sure to read her blog.

We are a strong coalition of Sarah Palin and John McCain supporters and we can send powerful messages with our blogs! Keep blogging, keep talking, keep working.

Another New Member!!! Lipstick Republican Joins the Read My Lipstick Network

We'd like to welcome Lipstick Republican (http://www.lipstickrepublican08.blogspot.com/) to the network. We'll be adding the blog to our blogroll as soon as they get through with some maintenance (blogrolls are working on your sites, but we can't get in to make changes at the moment, gather the hacking incident the other day has caused them to make some security changes).

For those who aren't using the code (so much easier as you never have to add anyone to your list, we do it for you), please add http://www.lipstickrepublican08.blogspot.com/ to your blog list.

Also, as always, we encourage you to support your fellow bloggers by "following" them if you're on Blogger or subscribing to their feed if you're not on blogger.

The polls are showing we're narrowing the margin between John McCain and Barack Obama! Saw on one of our blogs that Colin Powell is going to be on Meet the Press Sunday and word is out that he'll be endorsing Obama.

Sarah Palin is going to be on Saturday Night Live tomorrow. Talk about walking into the lion's den!

Barack's campaign had filed some ridiculous request for an investigation into John McCain and Sarah Palin's talking about ACORN. Barack sure does get uptight every time someone hurts his feelings. Thin skinned.

I'm still scanning the blogs to see what you guys have come across today! It's great to see the real news by reading all the blogs we're "following". I find out more from the blogs than I do from Fox News!

Be sure to do a TV fast through November 4th for John McCain. More on that coming just as soon as I get through today and tomorrow. What a weekend I have planned... all work, no play. Not whining, don't know what I'd do if I ever had to sit still for a few hours!

Make it a goal to get one new person to vote for McCain-Palin every day!

Go sign up on www.wam08.org and find out how you can make a difference!!!

Two New Blogs in the Network!

These are brand new blogs so there's not much on either of them yet. They're being written by two friends of mine who are fired up about the election and want to do everything they can to help get John McCain and Sarah Palin into the White House!

Here's the two new blogs:

Values we Value (http://valueswevalue.blogspot.com) (Pam)

Dots for Dummies (http://dotsfordummies.blogspot.com) (Jeanne)

(Yep, I conspired with my fellow Barracuda Babes to use the phrases we used in one of our blogs and turn 'em into their very own blogs.)

I'll get them added to the blogroll so those of you who're using it don't need to do anything other than add them to your "follow" list (if you're on blogger). For those who still have the old lips and link, please add them to your list of favorite blogs (and your "follow" list).

Thanks for all you're doing! Although we're all blogging like crazy and new blogs are being added every day, the search engines are still doing their thing and blocking us. Keep it up. We're being read and the word is spreading.

Think about joining these two blogrolls also:

www.mccainpalin08.blogspot.com (a member, and also has a blog list we highly recommend you consider joining)
http://theamericansentinel.com/join-the-american-solutions-independent-blogroll/ - American Solutions Independent Blogroll (great list, great cause and extremely helpful to RMLN! Check them out and join their blogroll)

Another Member!

The "Political Mommy" blog has joined the group! (http://www.mykidsfuturematters.blogspot.com/)

You're going to love the cream puff analogy on the blog she has out there now!

Our political Mommy is also one of the "right" authors of the blog Pachyderms and Asses (great blog, great idea).

Please add her blog to your favorites and be sure to comment! I've already added her to the self-updating blogroll.

Three New Members and another on the way!

We have three new members and another we'll be adding shortly! The enthusiasm for Sarah Palin, John McCain and the upcoming election is growing.

Members, I continue to be dismayed at what I see when I do a search on Sarah Palin's name. The media is working hard to twist her image and do what they do so well to anyone who doesn't fit their mold. We need more blogs! We need more people out there working to give a voice to the values and beliefs of the majority of Americans! We can not let them Bork our Sarah and we can not let them take the election from John McCain!

Encourage your friends to set up a blog and share their values and beliefs. We are fighting a bigger battle than just the fight for the White House as most of you know. We have to make our voices heard!

OK, I'll get off my soapbox and welcome our newest members!

Here's our newest blogs to add to your lists (if you don't have the self-updating blogroll code at http://rmlnblogroll.blogspot.com/):

The Right Daily: http://therightdaily.wordpress.com
Button Up: http://burgsbuttonup.blogspot.com/
Sweet Insanity: http://burgscrazyblog.blogspot.com/

Please add these to the blogs you're following on your dashboard if you're on Blogger.

We've set up a WordPress blog now also which will allow us to expand our ability to reach people! If you're used to Blogger it's a different format, but easy to learn and it's fun.

Let's get John McCain and the wonderful Sarah Palin elected! With all that's going on in Ohio and other states in regards to voter fraud we're going to need to get everyone we know out to vote. Offer to give rides to people, call everyone, send emails, lets get people excited!

We're on YouTube!

We just set up a You Tube account. Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/user/ReadMyLipstickNW

I wasn't shocked, but wasn't happy, when I went to YouTube and popped in Sarah Palin's name to see what was out there. A whole lot of nasty and a whole lot of people are watching. I figure we needed a presence on there just to see if we could elevate the tenor!

If you come across good positive videos on YouTube, leave a comment here or on our YouTube page and we'll add it as a favorite and give it a positive rating, maybe even leave a comment!

We just set up the account so we're not able to add the logo for 48 hours, but it will be there!

Friends, they are trying to do to Sarah what they've done to Bush, Bork and so many other good conservatives. Stay on your knees and keep on your toes (guess that one's kinda hard to do! Look at it this way, you'll get plenty of exercise ;-)

Expanding just a bit... a tiny bit... need your thoughts

Our focus is and has been getting Sarah Palin and John McCain elected. We also support conservative views and family values.

That said, some of the founders of RMLN have been talking about what we'll do AFTER the election.

John McCain and Sarah Palin are going to need our support more than ever after the election if we're successful in our efforts to put them in the White House. The media, Democrats and liberals will do the same thing to them that they've done to President Bush and to conservatives across the country.

We are going to start expanding our membership rolls just a bit to include blogs that share our values and are willing to do what they can to counter attacks against family values and a broad range of conservative values. We're looking for those who are openly in support of John McCain and Sarah Palin. We're looking for blogs and sites that are willing to focus for the most part on Sarah Palin of course! Getting Sarah into the White House is the reason the Network came into being.

Even if we are unsuccessful in getting McCain-Palin elected we'll continue to support Sarah as we know she's going to make waves in the future! She has arrived on the scene and boy is she a powerhouse!!!

We'll need to be stronger than ever if the Democrats steal the election (put in "voter fraud Obama" or "voter fraud Democat" in your search engine and see what's going on out there!). We have to support the values of the Republican Party --- and I'll clarify that a bit, we're talking about the core principles and values, not a blanket support of the "organization"!

If you have any comments or concerns or thoughts, please let us know. We want to hear from all members of the RMLN so we make sure we're all together on the direction we take.

Let's get John McCain and Sarah Palin elected!!! Let's get our country back on track!!!

Blog to check out!

Thought I'd pass this blog along to all: GrammyCracker.blogspot.com

Great title, definitely worth checking out. We're suggesting that anyone who likes it (and I think all will) add it to their sidebar list of favorites or a separate blogroll if you have one (not the Read My Lipstick Network blogroll). You may want to add it as a blog to follow if you're on Blogger, too.

Speaking of blogrolls, Paul at American Sentinel (http://theamericansentinel.com) has very graciously offered to help get us set up with a self-updating blog roll!!! Pretty soon all of our members will be able to stick some code on the side of your sidebar and never have to touch it again. We'll add new members on our end and your blog roll will automatically update just like the American Solutions Independent Blogroll that I HOPE all have joined and have posted on their sidebars. If you haven't, look on the sidebar of this blog, scroll down and you'll see the blogroll.

If you're out scouting around on the Internet and find a good blog you'd like to see included in the network be sure to let them know about what we're doing and send them this way.

Here's a way you can help Sarah Palin and John McCain: Encourage your friends to set up their own support blog and have them be faithful in posting their pro-Palin, pro-McCain comments through the election! The more blogs we have set up and the more enthusiasm there is for our ticket, the better our chances of success will be on November 4th!

Volunteer to pick up your friends and acquaintances on November 4th (or now if your state votes early). Offer to give shut-ins a ride to the polls. Stop by your local voting location and pick up absentee information to give to those who are going out of town or who may forget to vote. Make a list of friends and call them a few days before the election and remind them to go vote (make sure all these people are voting Republican first ;-)

Send all your friends and email and encourage them to sign up for McCain updates, to vote or send them links to positive news stories or blogs that are supportive and interesting.

There are all kinds of little things you can do that could make a huge difference on November 4th and to the future of our country. I'm sure you can add to my list!

Two new members!

We'd like to welcome two new members to the Read My Lipstick Network!

www.momsintheright.com
A voice on the Net for Conservative Moms.
We are a voice for conservative and Republican Moms and their families. We write about the issues that affect us and our families in the hope to effect positive and conservative change in The United States.

and

http://www.lasso-of-truth.blogspot.com/
Seekers of Truth, Justice and the American Way... While still living in the REAL world.

Here's the beginning of one blog that caught my attention:
Sarah Palin
I have had several people ask me what I think of Sarah Palin this week. One person that asked is a hardcore, far-left liberal. She thought I would not like her because she is a woman and the feminist that asked - she knows I am conservative. Her shock was evident when I said that not only do I like her, but I like her better than I like McCain. She was very surprized, so I explained... I would vote for a black man or a woman - just not the ones whose views and policies are polar opposite of mine. (click the title to read the entire blog)

---

Welcome to both of these great blogs! Please add them to your link lists and / or blog rolls. Hopefully we'll see them on Team Sarah, too.

If you're on Blogger they have a great new service "Followers" which allows you to privately or publicly follow blogs on your Dashboard / main page. It's cool 'cause it just shows a bit from recent posts allowing you to scan for articles of interest. It will pick up any blog with RSS I gather. You can turn on the ability to show YOUR followers in Layout (add gadget).

I know you're all glued to the radio and television trying to keep up with what is going on with our financial system. I think McCain is looking VERY Presidential.

Red State Feminist Joins the Network!

You are going to love the idea and love our newest Read My Lipstick Network member: www.redstatefeminists.org. Of course, the site is RED and now it has the red lipstick proudly displayed. The site owner will be adding a link to all of our pages over the next few days.

Please add it to your blog rolls.

I also signed the Read My Lipstick Network up tonight on Team Sarah. If I had your email address you should have received an email invitation asking you to join the Team. Thanks to one of our Barracuda Babes for passing this one along from someone who commented on their blog. It looks to be another cool network supporting our gal Sarah Palin.

Time is getting short and the economy is causing angst among voters. Many states have started early voting which means those who vote based on today's whim may be casting a vote they'll regret in the days to come. These days we can't afford to wait for bad news to hit in October to change people's minds since those who are voting early can shift an election.

Please talk to your friends, send emails and do whatever you can to get your friends to vote for the McCain-Palin team!

Speak Out Against Media Bias

http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/womenforpalin/

The Read My Lipstick Network is co-sponsoring a petition by the McCain Palin 2008 blog protesting media bias with the support of groups/sites across the political spectrum.

While many have witnessed a decisive pro-Obama slant in this news reporting during this election, this bias became glaringly apparent when Governor Palin was selected as the vice-presidential nominee.

Whether it is an organization like the New York Times having to retract stories about Governor Palin because they printed rumor and not fact; networks investigating the children of the Governor; or network pundits questioning the Governor’s ‘mothering’ skills, this over-the-top behavior and blatant bias is unacceptable. With over 1200 people having already signed we urge all readers to speak out against an irresponsible media by signing the following petition.

New Poll and the old one is still there, too

#1

PBS has a new poll which asks who you trust to get you through the economic crisis, Barack Obama or John McCain. Here's a link: http://www.pbs.org/cgi-registry/poll/poll.pl If that link doesn't work just go here: http://www.pbs.org/now/index.html and you'll find the poll toward the bottom on the right. They've fixed it now so that only one vote per computer... the last poll (which is still up by the way) asks about Sarah Palin's experience. If you haven't voted in that one, go to the post right before this one and access the link. They've been overwhelmed with voters on both sides!

#2

I'd like everyone to go check out this blog and see what you think about adding it to the network. Love the Republican on it, and like the idea of a Democrat trying to keep up! Not sure if it "fits" with the Read My Lipstick Network where we're strong supporters of John McCain and our lovely Sarah Palin. Whether you vote yes or no, it'd be a great blog to add to your sidebar (which I'm going to do on a few of my personal blogs).

Here's the blog: http://pachydermsandasses.blogspot.com/ (don't you just love the title?)

#3

Here's another site I invite you to check out: http://wthrockmorton.com/ This gentleman has some really interesting commentary and facts on his site! You may want to pop a link on your sidebar.

#4

Please sign up on the top right sidebar for email updates. Everytime something is posted to this blog you'll get an update. It's only sent out once a day and then only if something has been posted. Thanks to Kirly for reminding me about Feedburner and their great services! Blogger has quite a few of the same capabilities now. I believe Feedburner is another one that Google has picked up, so I'd imagine sooner or later everything that's on Feedburner will be on Blogger.

#5

LOTS of trash being tossed at McCain from the Obama campaign. Too much for one blog! If you have set up the ability to follow other blogs on your Blogger homepage (if you're using Blogger, many aren't), then you'll probably be able to scan titles and catch up fairly easily on the issues of the day! The big one in my mind is that they're trying to throw the race card into the mix, which of course, we all knew sooner or later would happen. Every time they try that mess it just makes people more leery of voting the Democratic ticket. The stretch they've made to stir the issue this time boggles my mind. I guess they figure it worked with Hillary and Bill, so maybe it'll work now.

56 to 42 on PBS Blog

We've overtaken the nay-sayers but they're still out there voting trying to say Governor Sarah Palin isn't qualified! You can vote more than once, so go for it!

PBS poll is asking if Governor Palin is qualified. www.pbs.org/now/polls/poll-435.html
