Tea Party update & an idea

Put July 4th on your calendars, more Tea Parties are in the works. Be sure to sign up on the various websites (let me know if you need links), Facebook, Twitter, etc. so you can keep up with the latest.

We need to make the next round so big, so good, so loud that they can't minimize us.

I'm going to put a yard sign of a tea bag in my front yard.

If you can't be at the tea party, show your support:

Tea bag decals in the back window of your vehicle (unless your in lib-land and your car will be trashed).

Tea bag earrings.

Tea bag purses.

Get creative.

Let's make a fashion statement AND a value statement at the same time.

Here's an idea I had for the July 4th Tea Party:

Give those who can't come an opportunity to make a sign with their names on them. Have them sent or delivered to one of the coordinators of the area Tea Party. Post the signs in an area (if stakes are allowed, stick 'em in the ground) or have a wall to put the signs on...

Can you imagine the visual of having thousands of people with signs AND having a field or wall covered with signs by those who couldn't make it to the Tea Party?

I know my creative tea party organizing friends can get real creative in this area!

Make a "Tea Party Park" for the signs! My sign is hanging in the garage so everyone can see it...

I'm so ready for the next tea party. Still bouncing on the energy, knowing that there are so many in my area (Atlanta) who are fighting the good fight.

Four new blogs join the Read My Lipstick Network

You are going to love this new group of bloggers who've joined our Network!

The Spyglass
http://the-spyglass.blogspot.com/

The author shares a "wandering eye over religion, politics, and other important matters". It's a great mix of conservative thought and an excellent blending of religion, politics and... other important matters".

The News Factor
http://TheNewsFactor.com

You're going to want to bookmark this great conservative news site. It's another blend with just the right kinda news. I'm adding it to my rss feed. Guarantee you'll like it.

Common Sense Conservatism
www.comebackconservatives.blogspot.com

As promised in the title, loads of common sense in this blog! I found myself reading every post, nodding my head in agreement, and wishing that there were more people with Laura's brand of common sense! Here's a sampling:
Mr. President, you need a lesson in Economics 101
The President just doesn’t understand economics and his policy team doesn’t seem to understand either. The markets like specifics and the Obama administration has yet to provide them with any...
A Republican come back?
The Republicans in the House took a giant risk against this new president by voting NO twice on the porkulus bill. It was a risk I think was worth taking...

Notoriously Conservative
www.notoriouslyconservative.com

Great blog! I got a kick out of the Twelve Step Program for Liberals. And, I'd been meaning to go check out the video of 14-year old Jonathan Krohn speaking at CPAC - it's on there. I watched. I will share with you on my personal blog later, long after you've visited Notoriously Conservative to see it!

---

I'm going to toss in another plug for Twitter. I "met" a few of the bloggers above on Twitter. It is a fantastic way to connect with other conservatives and to keep up with all the news. It can be a bit intimidating at first, but once you get the hang of it you'll be hanging out on it.

You can set you blogs to feed to Twitter. And set Twitter to feed to Facebook. You maximize your writing efforts by utilizing all the various social networks you can find time for. In the upcoming election, in the days ahead as we're fighting tooth and nail for our country, we're going to need every tool imaginable. I strongly encourage you to stretch yourself and go beyond blogging if you're not already doing so.

Twitter, Facebook, and the various Ning sites are a few of the great ways to network.

Twitter, Facebook, social network directory

Note to Read My Lipstick Network members:

We're in the process of adding a new feature to help promote our member blogs and websites. As the title above says, it's a directory listing ways to keep up with you on Facebook, Twitter and other social networks.

We are continuing to set up a dedicated page for each of you on the main site (www.readmylipsticknetwork.com). On that page we are including an RSS feed of your blog (if it has one), links to your blog AND we'll be adding other social network contact info as you send it.

The directory will simply be an alphabetical list of our blogs with your Twitter, Facebook, etc. links or usernames.

If you are a member of a Ning site, send that, too!

Send info to readmylipstick at live dot com. (Just in case you're wondering why we never include our email address on here, it's an attempt to stop the spammers from grabbing and adding to their lists. Nothing seems to really stop 'em, but we try ;-)

Growin' Growin' Growin' --- Another Great Member of Read My Lipstick Network

We are already an enthusiastic, positive force for the values that brought America into being, and now we have yet another super blogger joining us! Good Works Work (great title!) is our newest blogging member. Here's the link to Dawn's blog: http://goodworkswork.blogspot.com/

Be sure to add her to the blogs you follow (bottom of Dashboard, left, for Blogger blogs) or subscribe to, or add the blog as a favorite or somehow figure out a way to support Good Works Work (and all of our other member websites and blogs).

Still can't update the blogroll, just checked. We have so many new blogs to add!

Join us on Team Sarah (we have our own group) and I'm in the process of setting up a Read My Lipstick Network on Facebook. I'm probably going to need to ask for a volunteer to monitor Facebook, not one of my usual haunts, but we were invited and I hate to say no to any method that'll get the words you're writing out to the world.

Pick up the phone and call random people if you can't get hold of a list of voters! If you're Republican, call your local Party or the state Party and ask to help. We only have a few days left and they are critical days!!! Go on-line to www.johnmccain.com and click on the make phone calls button on the right side of the screen. They give you an easy script to follow. If you're shy about calling, do it during the day when everyone is at work and you can just leave a message. It's better to talk to people, but every thing you do is going to help. There are some counties where one, just one, vote will make it a John McCain-Sarah Palin win!!!
