Census hiring blitz of 750,000 to cut jobless rate, offer boost to Obama

The U.S. Census Bureau expects to add up to 750,000 workers to its payroll by May, a hiring binge that could knock the unemployment rate down by as much as a half-point.

Heard a bit on Fox & Friends one day last week (?) re: hourly rate being paid to Census temp workers... went as high as $21 or so an hour. I think the lowest rate they mentioned was in Alabama but don't hold me to that, working from memory here. Bottom line is they are paying pretty darn good hourly rates for short-term. There's a test so guess they have some requirements. And, I heard somewhere (maybe on Fox) that there's a hefty, hefty fine for anyone who doesn't keep their mouth shut regarding info...
