Sarah Palin Responds to Contributions Made to Planned Parenthood in Her Name

Governor Sarah Palin today issued the following statement in response to reports that contributions are being made to Planned Parenthood in her name:

“The abortion issue has been with us for decades and has pitted well-meaning people of differing ideologies against each other. Where we can find common ground is in the belief that no one wants a single abortion.

“But when there is a clash of values, I always will come down on the side of life. Making donations to Planned Parenthood in my name might be interesting theater in these politically charged times, but it is not going to change my views or the views of many other Alaskans who believe every life is precious.

“Anti-hunting groups are employing the same tactic of using my name to promote their cause right now. Again, interesting theater.”

Thanks for sharing this. I haven't been online today so I was out of the loop today and I got this message as soon as I opened my email. So glad I'm a part of the network! I will try to post on this before bed. These are acts of hate, plain and simple. They are filled with hate. They won't win any converts with hate. They have nowhere to go but down that way. Each of them has one vote and their angry vote won't get any more powerful than votes cast in the name of truth and love......ever. Buying dead babies and promoting an organization that exploits teenagers and children in the name of a pro-life candidate will have the same effect. They can only go down in popularity by advancing the cause of hate.

This is another ugly example of the hateful and personal nature of many lefty attacks. And they seem to be driven to personal attacks because ideas are foreign to the types that do this kind of thing. It is as if they are practically stalkers.
In Demons Dostoevsky describes progressives who are profoundly committed to their cause but but who lack the ability to understand one idea involved. He says that for these individuals allegiance to some leader becomes the focus of their their passion. I think their obsession with Gov. Palin and demonetization of her is this tendency expressed in the negative.
