Murkowski Campaign Misspells its Candidate's Name
Given that Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) hopes thousands of Alaskans will write her name onto their ballots, she can't be happy that her campaign pulled an ad after urging voters to go to "LisaMurkwski.com", the Washington Post notes.
Ironically, the ad aimed to inform voters how to correctly file a write-in ballot.
-----
Loved it that Republicans are punishing Murkowski. She is the poster child for "it's all about me, Me, ME". She is putting her own ego above that of not just the people of Alaska, but the Republican party as a whole, conservatives across the country and the overall future of our country.
Ya know, sometimes you just have to be willing to put your own hurt and anger aside and try to channel your better side. She probably could have used her loss and status to garner respect and a good job of some sort, maybe even come back in a few years to run for another seat successfully. The fact that she chose to hurt and lash out rather than do the right thing shows that she is not someone we want in office. The sense of entitlement that some of our political 'elite' have is shameful.
One note on the Murkowski name misspelling -- from what I've heard, it's doubly critical for her because if anyone misspells her name on the ballot, it's tossed. SO, if someone puts an "a" instead of the "o" or a "y" instead of the "i", the ballot is tossed. Let's hope that there are a lot of ballots tossed, or better yet, so few that they give her ego the beating it deserves.
If Joe Miller loses and the seat goes to a Democrat because of her ego, she will be a pariah forever. I hope Joe Miller trounces both his opponents.

We may be dependent upon election "quirks" to stop Dems
I read a couple of articles over the past few days on election 'quirks' that might be to our benefit in November. We all know that the Dems are planning on ramming their agenda down our throats AFTER the Nov. 2nd election if they lose the majority, probably even if they don't. Come January hopefully they won't have the ability to cripple our country any further... as long as the Republicans stay smart and hang tough.
It's kind of crazy when you think about it. They've had the majority plus the Presidency for 18 months and could have passed anything they wanted. Instead they're going to wait until after the elections to do the worst of the worst in hopes that a few Dems won't be forced to vote and lose their election. If some of these all-of-a-sudden-sorta converted leaning-more-to-the-right Dems win, they'll become back-sliders the day after the election.
Anyway, there's a possibility that election laws may keep the Dems from having enough votes to slam stuff through regardless of their desire and attempts. Per the article below, and a similar one in the Wall Street Journal, they may not have as many votes as they'd like.
The article in the Wall Street (New Spat: Senator's Swearing-In Date, Sept. 10) highlights a dispute over what happens when someone is appointed. The Republicans officials are saying the state law indicates that Michael Bennet (D) steps down Nov. 2nd if his opponent, Ken Buck (R), wins.
This is interesting stuff and will be worth watching... Let's hope the courts interpret the law the way the Republicans see it for a change.
Quirks May Cut Senate Democrats' Majority in Lame-Duck Session
Quirks in state election laws may reduce Senate Democrats’ majority right after the November election, making the always-difficult task of legislating during a possible lame-duck session even tougher. The terms of Democrats Roland Burris of Illinois, Ted Kaufman of Delaware and West Virginia’s Carte Goodwin, all appointed to their seats, will expire with the Nov. 2 elections...

‘Fair Tax’ seen as wedge issue to push split between Republicans, Tea Party
Democrats are eyeing the “fair tax” as a wedge issue in the 2010 elections, hoping to force Republican candidates across the country to take a stand on the conservative proposal. http://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/93455-fair-tax-seen-as-wedge-to-split-gop-tea-party --- Democrats are eyeing everything as a potential to split the conservative vote. We better keep our eye on the goal, be focused on winning the trophy, and be willing to vote the big picture rather than being one-issue voters (unless it something egregious)!!! Lets get conservatives in our elected offices and then next go around work on getting even BETTER candidates. As someone commented on an earlier blog --- we should pull any new candidates voting record (as in, voted Dem, Republican or other) AND if they've been in office, also pull their votes while in office... research is EASY to do these days. It's also easy to get distorted and incomplete information from a candidates opponents so be sure NOT to take anything you read, get in the mail or see on the tube at face value. Go to the Internet and research before you accept any criticism or attack on a candidate you think is worth a potential vote.

Fake Florida Tea Party??
I just joined the Ning site: the912project.us and was popping around looking at some posts and saw the title "Fake Florida Tea Party???". I scanned through the post and subsequent comments. It concerned me enough to want to put the question to all of my Twitter, blogger, Facebook friends to see if there's any merit.
Rumors are flying I gather that this now officially registered political party is a Democratic group started to take down Republicans. I'd guess (if I read closer) that they might also be working to split the vote which would most definitely help Democrats.
However, I would think that if people like you and I joined the Florida tea party group as an honest choice, then subsequently discovered that all they did was trash Republicans, we'd leave and they'd fail. Then again, if it's attracting only those who are simply frustrated without any knowledge of how the system truly works, it could have a negative impact.
On the subject of having a tea party party... I don't think we're quite there yet. Right now we don't need to be splintering the vote any further. We already have a number of third parties with Libertarian being at the top of the heap in my humble estimation. Unfortunately history has shown that pretty much any third party on the ballot changes the outcome and in most cases gets the most undesirable person running elected. There are exceptions, but right now we are out to save our country and I don't think splintering the vote any further is a helpful way to do it, even though I'm not happy with either of the two main political parties. Although, I am happy with the way the Republicans in D.C. are currently holding it together and doing the right thing. Would that they had been this strong and right in the days when they were in 'power'.
I think we need to be all about changing our party of choice. It's easier to start with the Republican Party at the moment because it's technically more aligned with most conservative values. However, the members don't necessarily adhere or do more than give lip service to many of those values. We need every Republican aligned tea party member, every person who wants to change D.C. to get involved in the Republican Party and change it from the inside.
Ditto on the Democrat Party. There are a lot of conservatives in the Democratic Party although most are jumping ship given the take over of the Dems by the libs / progressives. True Democrats are no more aligned with the ultra libs and progressives than most of us. They're looking for a home and a voice, too.
With the vibrant, can-do, must-do attitude of all of us who are involved in the Tea Party / 912 Project working together, we can change BOTH parties. However, as I've said before, standing on the outside throwing stones doesn't change anything. It makes people dig in, put up barricades and work harder to protect their domain.
Learn from those who are now destroying our country... they realized that their protests in the 60's and 70's didn't do anything of substance. They chucked their signs into the closet and got teaching jobs. They started ACORN. They infiltrated society. They worked on the egos and courted of our so-called "stars" to get a voice. They worked from the inside and look where they are now...
We have an advantage in that we're already a member of the very groups that need to be fixed. We vote. We're active. We have facts. We can make a change faster because we are open and united in most areas. As long as we don't allow ourselves to get side-tracked by things that can be fixed AFTER we correct the course of the country, then we will succeed and we will stem, then reverse, the tide of progressivism (is that a word? spell check will soon let me know ;-).
Getting involved in your local political parties will have more of a long-term affect on this country than the majority of things you could probably do (aside from electing Scott Brown in Massachusetts ;-). Most organizations have a shortage of worker-bees. Generally 10% are active and willing to work. Be one of those 10%. Get involved, get your friends involved, then move up the chain and join forces with others to make changes. Get into elected office after you have the support of your party. Then you can REALLY make some changes!
I could write a book filled with ideas to change the system. One thing is for certain, it's going to take more than the 2010 and 2012 election to fix the mess that we now clearly see. We've been complacent in some ways, even when we've been involved. I don't think any of us realized how corrupted the entire system had become.
This year has ripped the cover off and exposed the gooey mess that has been supporting the system's veneer. The "progressives" have been working since FDR and before to challenge and change what our founding fathers put into play. We are now challenged and tasked with trying to save what they've destroyed. Get your butts off the couch, stand up and move away from the computer, it's time to put some feet with those words you write.
Oh, and see what you can find out about the Florida Tea Party party. Let me know please.

Al Franken Storms to Within 5 Votes of Coleman
More than six weeks after the Nov. 4 election, Democratic challenger Al Franken threatened to take his first lead Thursday over incumbent GOP Sen. Norm Coleman in the recount of votes in the hotly contested Minnesota Senate race.
The State Canvassing Board ended its day Thursday with Franken having moved within just five votes of Coleman.

I've been visiting the McCain website and making phone calls when I have a few minutes. I have had some great conversations with people in Wisconsin and Florida thus far. It's encouraging to DO something positive to reach voters. We're not alone, we are the majority, we need to raise our voices and put every effort towards getting John McCain and Sarah Palin into the White House!!!

ANOTHER Fantastic New Member
So many, many are coming out to support the wonderful Sarah Palin and the next great President of the United States, John McCain! If you've been on Team Sarah lately it is growing so fast it crashed the system for a short period of time! I just heard a bit more about the polls on this morning's talk shows and, although I discounted them before, I really discount them now!
One thing I found interesting was a short piece on the actual coverage from the media on the campaign. It showed what we have all known, Barack Obama gets a pass and John McCain has been dumped on to the tune of almost triple the percentages. Duh. We don't need an independent group telling us that, we've all turned off mainstream media because of their open bias.
Anyway, we have a new member! Please add Meet the Real Sarah Palin (http://sarah-palin-2008.blogspot.com/) to your sidebars, blog rolls, blog lists, the blogs you're following, etc.
Our blogroll is working but we're still unable to add blogs to it or make any changes. Some nasty stupid hacker took it down, they got it back but they're unable to let us make changes right now. They're re-working the system to try and fix the areas hackers can hit.
As soon as it's back up we'll get the last four or five new members added.
Call your friends, call your enemies! Get the vote out for John McCain. Let the silent majority speak and let's not lose our country to someone who's going to take from those who've worked their tails off to make the American dream a reality so they can give it to those who live with their hands out.
I'm not talking about those who work and try, I'm talking about those who expect hand-outs and live on them. All statistics show that Republicans GIVE more than Democrats. We are a caring group of folks who live what the other side talks. There's a false picture that has been painted about us that has nothing to do with reality.
Time is short and John McCain needs your enthusiasm! The country and those American values that built this country need your enthusiasm!

Three New Members and another on the way!
We have three new members and another we'll be adding shortly! The enthusiasm for Sarah Palin, John McCain and the upcoming election is growing.
Members, I continue to be dismayed at what I see when I do a search on Sarah Palin's name. The media is working hard to twist her image and do what they do so well to anyone who doesn't fit their mold. We need more blogs! We need more people out there working to give a voice to the values and beliefs of the majority of Americans! We can not let them Bork our Sarah and we can not let them take the election from John McCain!
Encourage your friends to set up a blog and share their values and beliefs. We are fighting a bigger battle than just the fight for the White House as most of you know. We have to make our voices heard!
OK, I'll get off my soapbox and welcome our newest members!
Here's our newest blogs to add to your lists (if you don't have the self-updating blogroll code at http://rmlnblogroll.blogspot.com/):
The Right Daily: http://therightdaily.wordpress.com
Button Up: http://burgsbuttonup.blogspot.com/
Sweet Insanity: http://burgscrazyblog.blogspot.com/
Please add these to the blogs you're following on your dashboard if you're on Blogger.
We've set up a WordPress blog now also which will allow us to expand our ability to reach people! If you're used to Blogger it's a different format, but easy to learn and it's fun.
Let's get John McCain and the wonderful Sarah Palin elected! With all that's going on in Ohio and other states in regards to voter fraud we're going to need to get everyone we know out to vote. Offer to give rides to people, call everyone, send emails, lets get people excited!

We're on YouTube!
We just set up a You Tube account. Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/user/ReadMyLipstickNW
I wasn't shocked, but wasn't happy, when I went to YouTube and popped in Sarah Palin's name to see what was out there. A whole lot of nasty and a whole lot of people are watching. I figure we needed a presence on there just to see if we could elevate the tenor!
If you come across good positive videos on YouTube, leave a comment here or on our YouTube page and we'll add it as a favorite and give it a positive rating, maybe even leave a comment!
We just set up the account so we're not able to add the logo for 48 hours, but it will be there!
Friends, they are trying to do to Sarah what they've done to Bush, Bork and so many other good conservatives. Stay on your knees and keep on your toes (guess that one's kinda hard to do! Look at it this way, you'll get plenty of exercise ;-)

Blog to check out!
Thought I'd pass this blog along to all: GrammyCracker.blogspot.com
Great title, definitely worth checking out. We're suggesting that anyone who likes it (and I think all will) add it to their sidebar list of favorites or a separate blogroll if you have one (not the Read My Lipstick Network blogroll). You may want to add it as a blog to follow if you're on Blogger, too.
Speaking of blogrolls, Paul at American Sentinel (http://theamericansentinel.com) has very graciously offered to help get us set up with a self-updating blog roll!!! Pretty soon all of our members will be able to stick some code on the side of your sidebar and never have to touch it again. We'll add new members on our end and your blog roll will automatically update just like the American Solutions Independent Blogroll that I HOPE all have joined and have posted on their sidebars. If you haven't, look on the sidebar of this blog, scroll down and you'll see the blogroll.
If you're out scouting around on the Internet and find a good blog you'd like to see included in the network be sure to let them know about what we're doing and send them this way.
Here's a way you can help Sarah Palin and John McCain: Encourage your friends to set up their own support blog and have them be faithful in posting their pro-Palin, pro-McCain comments through the election! The more blogs we have set up and the more enthusiasm there is for our ticket, the better our chances of success will be on November 4th!
Volunteer to pick up your friends and acquaintances on November 4th (or now if your state votes early). Offer to give shut-ins a ride to the polls. Stop by your local voting location and pick up absentee information to give to those who are going out of town or who may forget to vote. Make a list of friends and call them a few days before the election and remind them to go vote (make sure all these people are voting Republican first ;-)
Send all your friends and email and encourage them to sign up for McCain updates, to vote or send them links to positive news stories or blogs that are supportive and interesting.
There are all kinds of little things you can do that could make a huge difference on November 4th and to the future of our country. I'm sure you can add to my list!

Go Sarah!! has joined the network
I had no idea there were so many quality people taking their precious time to help get John McCain and Sarah Palin elected! This is a critical election and we need all the help people are willing to give.
I was just listening to the author of a book about voter fraud talking on the radio. I only listened to a minute but what I heard was scary. Have you heard about Acorn the group Obama is tied into? I'll try to find out more and share it with the Network or maybe some of you will want to go out and do some research.
Get your friends engaged in this fight for what is right! We're going to need poll watchers all over the country --- a good topic for your blogs at some point.
Welcome to Go Sarah!! Please visit, please share and please add her blog to your Blog Rolls and Blog Lists. You may want to use the new Blogger feature, "Follow" so you can see when something new is posted.

Here's a brief description:
Some of us are simply home makers. Others of us work full or part-time outside the home. Our children are infants, toddlers, teens, or young adults. We are Roman Catholic, Methodist, Lutheran, Non-Denominational or other Christian faith. We send our children to public school, private school, home school. Our common denominator is our fierce love for our families and our country...The United States of America. We are MORE MOMS FOR MCCAIN.
