More on the Obama birth certificate issue

In the past two days I've rec'd two separate emails regarding the ongoing issue with Barack Obama's missing birth certificate. I don't understand why the guy just doesn't produce it and be done with the mess IF there's nothing to the issue. Why is he fighting it in court??? Why is this an issue for him? The first group (I believe) is raising money to hire a forensic specialist to examine the document Obama posted. I'll let you read through the following email info (separated by *** line) and then I'd encourage you to go out and do a bit of investigating for yourself. Linda Shaw, who sent the first email, has been outstanding when it comes to keeping people posted on the issue. The second I rec'd as a forward from Sparrow Girls (one of our member blogs).

***********************************************

There is going to be a full page open letter to Obama published in the Chicago Tribune on Monday 12/1 and also on Wed. 12/3. It will appear in the main news section. Then there is going to be a DC National Press Club Event on Dec 8th. This fight will go on until the birth certificate is released.

In the ad, we are asking Obama to

Quote:
immediately direct the appropriate Hawaiian officials to allow access to the vault copy of your birth certificate by our forensic scientists on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, December 5, 6 and 7, 2008.

See Open Letter to Obama.

Time is running out and this needs to be done.If you could put out the information on any of your groups/blogs, etc. and if you can pledge a donation, it will be appreciated. I have written Doug and Lee about using a paypal account instead of having to mail a donation in order to get the funds faster. I hope to hear back from them by tomorrow. This is the letter that is going out. I am going to send to some of the pacs. If you have suggestions as to someone to send it to, please let me know. I am also in the middle of the petition drive for the Media Reform with W.A.M. so I appreciate any help I can get.

Dear…..,

I am contacting you today on behalf of the Democratic Disaster Organization, a rapidly growing, successful grassroots movement, to ask you to PLEASE DONATE MONEY. We want to ensure that the Constitutional requirements to run for President are enforced. We believe that the Constitution is the foundation for all our laws: that we must be a nation ruled by law and not “Who one knows”, or “how much money I donated to a candidate” or the whims of the fleeting moment. We are engaged in a struggle to stop the destruction of our Constitutional Republic.

The 2008 election has been very troubling to me, as so much information about our President-elect has been hidden from the voters. Senator Obama’s vault birth certificate, medical, college records, etc., have NOT been made available to the people.

All other Presidential candidates made this information available.

Instead of producing his records, Mr. Obama has spent many thousands of dollars in legal fees to keep them hidden. Why? What motivation would Senator Obama have for doing this?

The mainstream media has ignored the mounting evidence questioning Mr. Obama’s qualifications under the Constitution. Further, what little that has been provided by the Obama Campaign appears to be highly suspect and questionable such as, but not limited to, the electronic Hawaiian Certificate of Live Birth that appeared on Senator Obama’s official campaign website and has been shown by a forensic scientist to be “doctored.”

Then there is the Factcheck.org’s website that makes false and misleading claims. Factcheck failed to examine the original vault copy of Senator Obama’s birth certificate; they only examined an “official copy” of a Certificate of Live Birth. Yet they claimed that the vault birth certificate was “for real.”

The FACT is that no one has had the opportunity to look at the original vault birth certificate, even the Supreme Court of the USA. There has been no team of document forensic scientists who examined the vault birth certificate for authenticity. Senator Obama has demanded that no one be allowed to look at this vault birth certificate under penalty of criminal prosecution. The ONLY way to see it is by Court Order.

The mainstream media has also ignored the numerous legal cases being filed from all over the United States asking Senator Obama to prove his eligibility for the Presidency.

I joined Democratic-Disaster to make sure the Constitution is honored. I wanted to make a difference. I hope you feel the same way. We have contacted the Electors in all the states and asked them to join us in a class action suit to determine Mr. Obama’s eligibility to be President. We have had favorable replies. The Electors have “standing” before the Courts.

If you feel as we do, please go to our website at: http://www.democratic-disaster.com

1 last chance to fight for our Constitution
Posted: November 18, 20081:00 am Eastern© 2008

Former Deputy Attorney General Philip Berg filed a lawsuit addressing the citizenshipstatus of Barack Obama before the Democratic National Convention and copied Democratic Chairman Howard Dean. It should have alerted them that there was a possible problem before they selected their nominee. But that problem was ignored. Other lawsuits filed before Nov. 4 were also ignored, placing us in what could be a constitutional crisis.

The good news is the real election hasn't taken place yet. The Electoral College doesn't meet until Dec. 15. That gives us less than a month to find the answers to the looming questions regarding whether Barack Obama meets the constitutional requirements for the office of president.
The courts don't seem to be in any hurry to take up their responsibility as guardians of the Constitution, so now Congress must step in. You see, members of Congress are sworn to uphold the Constitution, and when they vote in January to confirm (or reject) the vote of the Electoral College, they can't very well do that unless they know=2 0for certain that the basic constitutional requirements for office have been met.

An ad running this week in the Washington Times Weekly asks three questions America needs to know: "Was Barack Obama really born in Kenya?" "Is he really a citizen of Indonesia?" And, "Does the Constitution still matter?"

As I wrote about last week, there are many reasons to doubt whether Barack Obama meets the requirements for the office of president. First, there's that pesky tape from Sarah Obama, Barack'sgrandmother, where she says, "I was in the delivery room in (Mombosa) Kenya when he was born Aug. 4, 1961." Secondly, there's the matter of U.S. law. If only one parent was an American citizen, as in Obama's case, the law at the time of Obama's birth required one parent to have been an American citizen for at least 10 years – five of which had to have happened after the age of 14. Since Obama's mother was only 18 at the time of Obama's birth, he would not qualify as an American citizen if his grandmother is right ab out him being born abroad.

Thirdly, there's no original birth certificate – just a "certification of live birth" posted on a website experts say is forged and altered. Fourthly, there's the issue of Indonesian citizenship, which is a prerequisite to attending school there. Add to that the fact that Obama's stepfather, Lolo Soetoro, is listed as his father on his Indonesian school records. If he had U.S. citizenship, according to Indonesian law, he would have lost it when he attended school there or if he was adopted by his stepfather as his records indicate.

As the ad proclaims, "The Constitution matters" and is still worth defending. All we are asking is that Congress takes their oath to defend it seriously. If Obama can prove he meets the basic but essential constitutional requirements, fine, he'll serve legally. But if he cannot provide simple proof, then he cannot. We're not asking for the world here, just the original birth certificate that each of us delivers when getting a passport, driver's license or Social Security card. If we can't tell the clerk at the post office to check out the digital photo of a certificate posted online, neither should the guy running for president. Members of Congress: If you have taken an oath to defend the Constitution, now's the time to keep it.

But I know the reasons for your hesitancy. I've faced them myself and have come to the conclusion that if one of our founders, Patrick Henry, could proclaim, "Give me liberty or give me death," we can face our fears and stand for the document they penned that outlines our God-given rights to freedom. What if we asked our Founding Fathers, many of whom lost everything in the battle for our nation, if they think the Constitution is still worth defending? They already answered that question with their lives.

But what about the objections?

"Obama won the popular election." So did Al Gore. But George W. Bush is still president. That's because the Electoral College decides – and in this case, it hasn't yet. In fact, the electors can't fulfill their solemn oath to uphold the Constitution unless they know the candidates meet the basic constitutional requirements for office.

"This should have happened long before now." That's true, but the cases filed before Nov. 4 were ignored by the courts, and the answers to these basic questions were never answered. There is still time for those answers since the real election has not yet happened.

"They'll be riots in the streets."This objection is much like the reaction of Kenya to Obama's candidate of choice, Raila Odinga, who incited violence and the burning of hundreds of churches (not a single mosque) when he lost the race. Obama raised a million dollars for this upstanding guy and assigned a Senate staffer to help him. To bring the violence to an end, the Kenyan government put Odinga – the guy who lost the election – in office to keep him from burning more churches. They failed the first rule of the playground: Confront the bully; don't appease him. Threats of violence must be met with fierce resistance, not appeasement.

"I better not be public on this because I'll become a target." News flash: If you believe in life, liberty and the family, you already are a target. The henchmen are selected; the gallows for our freedoms are already being built. And the only candidate in history to never move an inch to the center during the campaign has no intentions of changing his agenda of outlawing our viewpoint with the "unfairness doctrine," "thought crimes," "The Employment Non Discrimination Act" the repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act and all the rest. As I wrote about in my book, "The Criminalization of Christianity" (which will surely come true if we don't act now), "Never fail to do the right thing for fear that the opposition will attack you in response. The other side can and will attack you anyway, at a time of their own choosing rather than yours, regardless of whether you act."

"We'll just beat him in four years." In four years, we won't be able to recognize what's left of our country. And if you think taking on this issue right now is hard, try doing it when our radio airwaves are shut down and our freedoms are stripped from us, as he has promised to do. And with Obama's promise to pass the so-called Freedom of Choice Act as "the first thing" he does, you can say goodbye to the notion of protecting unborn children again – and goodbye to every law in all 50 states that notifies parents, keeps our tax dollars from footing the abortion bill and prevents even a single partial-birth abortion.

"They'll say I'm a 'racist' and call it 'sour grapes.'" Our Founding Fathers faced death, we face name-calling. Right now our U.S. soldiers are being shot at for the freedoms guaranteed in our Constitution. If the Constitution isn't worth undergoing some name calling, then the oath taken to defend it means nothing.

"Somebody else will do it." They haven't. And time is running out.

"It's not my responsibility."The lower court in Philadelphia threw out Phil Berg's case (which is now before the U.S. Supreme Court) based not on the merits, but on the issue of "standing," and pointed to the need for Congress to act. If the questions of constitutionality are not met before Congress is called upon to uphold the vote of the Electoral College, they cannot fulfill their oath and duty to uphold and defend the Constitution. If we are willing to ignore the constitutional requirements for the highest office in our land, what else are we willing to forgo? That part about free speech? Freedom of the press? Freedom of religion?

"We deserve what we got."That's true, so did the people of Nineveh who asked, "Who can tell if God will turn and relent, and turn away from His fierce anger, so that we may not perish?" If you're unfamiliar with the story recorded in Jonah, God didn't give the Ninevites what they deserved; and even though the judgment was pronounced against them, when they fasted, prayed, sought God and turned from their wicked ways, God had mercy and spared them from judgment.

"It's impossible." With God, all things are possible. Eight years ago the election was called for Al Gore, and he never took office. If God is the same today as He was yesterday, He can still split the sea, raise the dead, stop the sun and reverse the results of the popular vote if the basic requirements of the Constitution are not met in the candidate.

"He's constitutionally qualified." Great. Then it won't be hard to prove it.

The Electoral College votes on Dec. 15 – we now have less than 30 days of freedom left. How will you spend it?20Will you "safely" keep quiet about our nation's most important document, or will you step forward to defend it?

There's a replica of William Wallace's sword hanging on my wall. It reminds meof his words captured in the movie "Braveheart":

William Wallace: I am William Wallace. And I see a whole army of my countrymen, here in defiance of tyranny. You've come to fight as freemen, and freemen you are. What will you do without freedom? Will you fight?

Man: No … we will run … and we will live.

William Wallace: Aye. Fight and you may die. Run and you'll live – at least a while. And, dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies, that they may take our lives, but they'll never take our freedom!

Congress, you were elected for such a time as this. Don't miss your moment in history to def end the Constitution you were sworn to uphold. Not extreme. Not fringe. Just constitutional. A thorough investigation must be conducted to ensure the basic constitutional requirements for the office of president have been met. It is not just your right – it is your duty. And you have less than 30 days to act. You have the freedom right now that you will never have again. You can fight to defend the Constitution of the United States, or you can run. As William Wallace asked, the question is: Will you fight?

Call your representative in Congress at 202-224-3121 and ask them to hold immediate congressional hearings to investigate and ensure the basic constitutional requirements for the office of president have been met.

Fast and pray.

Two (2) New Members... the Random Cheer Project... Media Blackout...

Two new members!

Annie Oakley is a PAC and a ning site, so you'll be able to sign up and talk if you'd like. http://www.annieoakley.org. It's a great idea, love the name and the thought behind it.

Our other new member is Girl Politicized (http://girlpoliticized.blogspot.com/). Cool lips greet you when you pop over to the blog! She has an interesting blog talking about who Sarah Palin's VP pick might be... love the forward thinking. Most of us are gearing up for having Sarah run and she's already picking out the VP and probably the Cabinet as well.

I know I brag about you guys all the time, but it is phenomenal when you stop to think about all the brilliant and caring people on "our" side!

I get frustrated sometimes when I hear how conservatives are depicted. Supposedly we're selfish, greedy, rich capitalists... Instead we give more and we're not necessarily a group of Daddy Warbucks types, either. Look who had the money in this last election! Soros, Hollywood, the Unions, etc., etc.

Ah well... I'm working on tackling the media (hence the Media Blackout page on our website and the new Media Blackout group on Facebook). And, I've started another project (like I don't have enough to do) called the Random Cheer Project (http://randomcheerproject.blogspot.com, and it's on Facebook). It's a simple thing that came to me this morning as I was laying in bed trying to decide whether I really wanted to get up or not! Hope you'll check it out and join in spreading a smile or two. It's easy and it only costs a stamp or two to participate.

Operation Leper

http://www.redstate.com/diaries/redstate/2008/nov/07/operation-leper-sign-our-petition/

Carlos Echevarria, who has one of our member blogs, Let's Get It Right (http://carlosechevarria.blogspot.com/), posted a link to the petition "Operation Leper" on the Read My Lipstick Network Facebook page! I think his blog is Here's what you're agreeing to:
I pledge to publicly expose and actively oppose all of John McCain's
staffers smearing Sarah Palin and will oppose any candidate who hires these
people for a 2012 race. These smear artists must become political lepers for the
good of the country and the Republican Party.

I have no idea where it's going or what kind of impact it might have, but I like the idea of it!

Another new member!

I'm NOT going to tell what the name of this blog means, you'll have to go look it up. It's worth looking up...

http://noliinsipientiuminiuriaspati.blogspot.com/ - Nolin Insipientium Iniurias Pati

It's an interesting blog, she's finding things that I don't normally come across in my daily Internet travels. I think you'll all enjoy and possibly be challenged by some of the posts! Glad to have our 85th blog!

My goal now is to break 100 this year. I wouldn't mind going much higher, but that's an attainable goal.

Hope you're all enjoying time with your families and friends... don't eat too much, left overs are great!

More members...

Two new members today!

http://blue-dot-blues.blogspot.com/ - Blue Dot Blues (another Texan!)

http://blatheringsblog.com/ - Blatherings Blog (a top-notch blog!)

We have two in line waiting for the blogroll to show up on their sidebars. Aren't we just the popular Network these days??? You know why? It's because of all of you and your top quality blogs.

---

I'm still bummed that I won't be able to see Sarah on Monday. My husband was willing to get up extra early to get me to Augusta at 8:30 in the morning... but I have a huge charity event that night and have to be "on" from 1 a.m. until I collapse. I'm a host, a sponsor and I'm painting two chairs for the event (artists are donating painted chairs to auction). If Sarah would have just decided to come in on Sunday it would have been fine. Talk about a long day... she have four rallies in four different parts of the state. I'm sure she'll be flying in Sunday sometime, probably spend the night in Augusta, then jump over to Savannah on the coast, then to Perry which is in the middle of the state, then to north Georgia. She has to be flying, no way to drive that and make it from one event to the next I'd think, although it's sorta possible.

They're asking for the Georgia group on Team Sarah to volunteer at the rally. I have press credentials and could actually probably get up to talk with Sarah, or at least get close enough to get some good photos. Can you tell I'm really disappointed? Are you getting tired of my whining?

Ah well, the event I'm doing on Monday is going to help a LOT of kids and that's more important than going to a political event. I'm sure there are going to be many opportunities to see Sarah in the years to come. I've always wanted to do an Alaska cruise... hmmm .

---

Go check out our two new members! Hope you're taking a look at all of them and trying to follow as many as you can.

---

One more thing --- if you haven't already done so, please visit our map page and pop a pin in it so we'll know where you're located! Here's a link: http://www.readmylipsticknetwork.com/map/map.htm. Add a photo and a comment, too, if you'd like. It's fun getting to know all of you.

Blogroll update # 438,392

It seems like our blogroll has been down for ages... and it has. We're in the same boat as countless blogrolls across the Internet. I think I have about 30 blogs I now have in the hopper waiting to be added to the blogroll.

I'm sorry to all of our newest members. I am still searching for an alternative. There's a blogroll on here, but the code is only good on your individual blog. It doesn't have a logo and all the other bells and whistles "our" blogroll has either.

I'm going to give them through the rest of this week then I guess I'll have to shell out some money and buy a program so we can keep up with our own. We could get hacked just as easily as them so I'm not really wanting to go that route, I have enough to do just trying to keep up with my work and all you wonderful, lively bloggers!

Getting to know all of you, and all of the others who've found me through our Network, has been a great experience. It gives me hope for the future of our country and our world.

A record... SEVEN, yep, 7 New Members!

Get your fingers ready as you'll be copying and pasting (or retyping if you really must ;-)

We have seven (7) new members to add to our rolls and you're going to love each and every one of these great blogs / websites! There's one that hasn't posted the blogroll yet, but I'm going to trust them to do it. I guess if they don't I'll just have to take them off the lists and never add them to the blogroll. Tell you what, rather than go through that, we'll make it six new members so I don't have to be a meanie.

Here's the six new members:

Praying Pundit - http://www.prayingpundit.com/

Red Mom, Blue State - http://redmombluestate.blogspot.com/

Young Red Elephant - http://www.youngredelephant.com/

Homeschool Patriot - http://www.homeschoolpatriot.net/ (that's the blog, they have a website also, http://www.homeschoolpatriot.com/)

Men for Palin - http://www.menforpalin.com/

Governor Palin for President - http://govpalin4prez.com/

Whenever you're having a so-so day, go pop onto some of your fellow-member's blogs! I try to add them all to my "follow" list, but we're up to 82 members now so even I'm having to pick and choose. What I'm doing, since I have a couple of different blogs, is adding a chunk to one, another chunk to another... that way I can scan through all your fantastic blogs and get the news. It's almost hard to find something new to write about after I read through all your insightful comments.

---

We're building a conservative link list on http://www.readmylipsticknetwork.com/. If you have a favorite website for news, on abortion, education, immigration... a conservative yahoo or ning site... any conservative site... send me an email with the links and we'll check them out, then add if we can figure out where to put it! (read my lipstick at live dot com).

---
Hope you ALL have a very Happy Thanksgiving. I'm thankful for many, many things and you all are part of the list!

Thanks for all the good wishes you've sent my way while I've been ill. I'm almost back to normal (my normal ;-) I wouldn't wish this nasty virus on my worst enemy.... just glad I didn't end up in the hospital like some others I know!

Wake Up America Movement is helping in Georgia!!!

Wake Up America Movement encourages your participation in a special phone drive on the potentially critical GA race (to prevent fillibuster proof Democratic Senate).

W.A.M. offers a special script for these calls (much better one than the GOP bank has) and other improved support materials for callers who volunteer.

We are aiming for 50 positive call responses per volunteers. Please do all you can.

Also, it's not too late to send local postcards as a GET OUT THE VOTE reminder. These are easy to print 4 to a sheet of plain cardstock and cut.

Postage for postcards is just .27 cents each. You can mail these to any local group lists you may have - or even just drawing addresses from your local phone book.

Remember, every vote counts in this important run off election. If you know of others who may want to help, have them come to this link, for further information on Georgia's Senate race W.A.M. Action. Then, they can sign in to Get Involved and will be sent their own Call materials:

http://www.wam08.org/TakeaStand.html

Thanks for participating in Wake Up America movement for democracy in action!

Like to help in the Georgia run-off?

The run-off between U.S. Congressman Saxby Chambliss (R) and Jim Martin (D) is tight according to most. Each side is, of course, predicting victory. Heard today that Obama has declined to come to Georgia to help Democrat Jim Martin. Some say he would only have come if it truly were a close race and it looked like he could be on the winning side...

I rec'd the following from a Facebook group that's out there working to make sure there are enough Republicans to sustain a filibuster...

Though we are running close on time... Anyone can contact the GaGop and
volunteer to "get-out-the-vote". As of last Friday, they were willing to pay for
airfare and lodging to those that could volunteer their time from Friday the
28th to Wed Dec 3rd. The GaGop can be reached (202)421-3651 & georgiadeployment@gagop.com.

If you're inclined to help but money is holding you back, give the GaGOP a call or send an email. It's hot and heavy down here, I'm getting three or four mailers, robo-calls and seeing a commercial every break about the election! Unfortunately, there will still be tons of people who say they didn't even know there was a run-off...

If you can't come, ask them if you can make phone calls.

Blogroll Update for Read My Lipstick Network Members

According to the note on our blogroll service website... they were planning on being back up on Thursday (as in, yesterday ;-) I got all excited when I read that the other day... then Thursday came and the same message was still posted... and then today, Friday, came and the same message was still posted...

However, being a glass half full type gal, I know it's going to be back up and running SOON. Maybe today...

You'll all know it's back up and running when the top logo changes (assuming I can figure out how to do that!!!).

Still down for the count with this nasty virus that's making the rounds in our neck of the woods. Worst I've ever personally encountered. It's pretty much shut down my news sites (Georgia Front Page, Fayette Front Page and Arts Across Georgia). Everyone in our office has this critter. We are all "telecommuters" in that we work from our homes (saves much on overhead ;-). What that means though is that we all caught it independently...

Here's hoping this never reaches your home town!

Another new member...

Here's our latest members: The Sarah Palin Blog, http://www.thesarahpalinblog.com/

Be sure to say "welcome" and if you like what you read when you visit, "follow" them if you're on Blogger!

We've grown from around ten blogs a few weeks before the election to 76 at the moment and we're affiliated with many, many other networks and groups which helps YOUR readership! I can't wait until we break 2,000 .

Thanks again for all your hard work and finger tapping. Keep those brains in tip-top shape as we're going to need to use every scrap of intelligence and wit we can muster in the next few years.

I know sometimes it seems like you're just venting or, on our worst days, wasting time... but you are NOT. We all give what we can and believe me it all adds up to one powerful movement! I remember in church having the minister or Sunday School teacher talk about how we make up the body. Some of us may just be that toe that keeps getting stubbed but we're building calluses! We all have a vital part and every short blog, every piece of information you share, every thought you type into your blog is meaningful. You never know who's reading and who you're reaching.

Have a GREAT Thursday!

My blog post from Team Sarah

I thought this might be helpful to some of you as I know we'd all like to improve our blog readership AND, more importantly, take over the Internet in the next elections so we can WIN!!! I just posted this on Team Sarah.

Gearing up for 2010 and 2012

One area we were woefully behind in during this last election was on the Internet. My goal is for us to "own" the Internet by the time the next election cycle rolls around.

I'm a member of a number of groups on Team Sarah, and I'm involved with a number of other great organizations out there that are gearing up to win in the future.

We're behind, but the things that are happening here on Team Sarah and similar sites are helping close the gap.

I have a few suggestions for all who are organizing individual groups, be it by state or by other common ties. You may be way ahead of me, but here's some of my thoughts:

- Encourage everyone in your group to start their own blog outside of Team Sarah or other organizations. Wordpress, Blogger and Typepad are the three most popular free blogging systems with Blogger probably being the easiest.
- Make sure that your group and all the individual blogs cross-post links. That helps with your visibility on the Internet. I won't bore you with details.
- Join the other networks that are springing up and post their blogrolls on your blogs and websites. I'll name a few that I know of at the end of this.
- Start a website and link all the blogs onto that website. We have the Read My Lipstick Network. Every day we're adding 1, 2, 3 or more blogs to the rolls. Everyone is fired up!
- Post comments on other people's sites and blogs.
- Share stories and make sure you post the beginning paragraph and a title link back to the article. (Copyright laws do NOT allow the full posting of news articles without permission).
- When you post a link or story on a website or blog, be sure to give credit (hat tip) to the source and link back to their blog or website. It helps you both in search engine rankings and helps your readership (plus it's the right thing to do).
- Set up a Facebook, MySpace, Yahoo and Twitter page for your group. There are other similar type services out there, the more places you're located, the quicker we'll dominate the Internet. You'll need to have people assigned to watching over those sites as you'll need to stay current.
- If you are inclined to talk rather than write and you can sit in front of a video camera, start doing commentary and put yourself on YouTube. You'll need a basic program to edit your video. Post it on Google and Yahoo, too.
- Always put key words or tags at the bottom of your blog posts and videos. Helps people to find you and it helps in search engine rankings.

There's tons more you can do, those are a few basics that popped into my mind. Chances are you have some other ideas?

Here are some networking sites to check out (these are just a few, there are many, many more!). I've included some for every leaning, moderate, conservative, former Hillary supporter, etc.:

Sign the petition going to Sarah...

Hi, I wanted to draw your attention to this important petition that I recently signed: "Sarah Palin for President 2012"http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/sarahpalin2012?e I really think this is an important cause, and I'd like to encourage you to add your signature, too. It's free and takes less than a minute of your time. Thanks!

(We have a link on our website, www.readmylipsticknetwork.com, bottom left, has a great photo of Sarah on it! Feel free to lift it and post it on your blogs)

One more thing about voting --- when you vote it will take you to a donation page. You do NOT NOT NOT have to donate any money and your vote will still count. Just close out the page when it flips to the donation page (unless you want to donate, your choice).

Another new member...

You're gonna love this one!!!

http://Vets4Sarah.net -- Veterans Supporting Governor Sarah Palin for President in 2012!

Please welcome our newest member, go visit the blog, comment, say welcome... enjoy the photos!

I'm going to add them to all our lists right now, hope you'll add them to your lists.

Since we're talking Vets, I'm gonna give a big shout out and say THANKS to our military. Without you we wouldn't be talking, we wouldn't voting and we wouldn't be the great country we are. We take so much for granted in our lives. We can do that simply because there are those who don't take things for granted. They are led to protect us and to fight for us.

---

Little bit of a different subject: I hear Sarah is coming to Georgia! I don't have the details yet, but I'm sure she's coming to help Saxby Chambliss in his race. John McCain has been here, Mike Huckabee, and I understand Mitt Romney and some others are heading our way. Talk about feelin' special! I'll keep you posted.

Vote for Sarah, Times Magazine's Person of the Year

Who Will Be Person of the Year 2008? Barack Obama? Gordon Brown? Michael Phelps?

Click through the pros and cons of our finalists for Person of the Year and vote for the candidates you think are most deserving.

Well at the moment, Sarah Palin has over 6,000 votes and the next person behind her is only 2000 votes and that's Barack Obama. Go to the link below and cast your votes.

Vote a 10 for Sarah Palin and a 1 for all the others if you like.

Remember, Time Magazines person of the year is always interviewed by Barbara Walters on ABC. So that will put Sarah back in the news where she needs to be.

http://www.tlaurl.com/157

(Hi all... I just voted and Sarah has over 11,000 votes now!!! Spread the word, let's keep her up there at the top. The only downside I see is that it's the Times and they won't be able to resist tossing some digs in when they write the story. But the pluses outweigh the negatives I think! - Janet)

ANOTHER member!

We're rockin' and rollin' friends! I really like this new blog, partially because it represents the future. The author of the blog is in college and is a Republican. He sent me a column to add to my news site (www.fayettefrontpage.com), which I intend to do tomorrow. I zapped an email back to him after looking at his blog. He is impressive. I'm going to share his article here (with permission).

I hope you will all go visit his blog and comment! It's really nice when new members hear from the rest of us! It's nice to know you're being read, also, which is why I love the "follow" feature on Blogger. Something all of you may want to do, blogger, wordpress, typepad, etc., is go visit www.Feedburner.com --- you can add all kinds of cool features to your blog, make it more compatible with readers, add a subscription feature for your blog, etc. Free.

In the meantime here's Steven's blog:

The New Republican - http://newrepublican.wordpress.com/

Here's the article:

The New Republican
By Steven Lee

I became the first President of the Law Republicans at the University of Georgia this Fall. My story is unlikely. I was born in Connecticut and raised in New York but now I am a proud Southerner. My parents left South Korea to become Americans almost 30 years ago. My family grew up in a rent-controlled tiny one-bedroom apartment, while my parents took on three jobs at a time to make ends meet.

When I was younger, my parents imposed a strict curfew, clamping down on my whereabouts due to the lack of safety in our crime-ridden neighborhood. The neighborhood we grew up in bustled with immigrant families of different cultures, sending children to school from tiny apartments, trying to live the American Dream. After an exhausting day of work each day, my parents worried and checked up on my schoolwork late in the evenings.

If you have watched those liquid dish soap commercials where a single drop of soap instantly makes the grease scurry to the edges of the sink, you would have found a discomforting similarity to my bathroom wall when it turned from black to white as roaches scurried for places to hide from the light. When I was a child and I went to the bathroom at night, I turned on the bathroom light, quickly turned around and ran into my bed in horror.

More than two years ago, my parents finally scrounged enough money together to buy a home in sunny Georgia. They were fortunate enough to save, buy a small home, and then were lifted out of New York during the housing boom, the way a river floods and lifts the broken in its current.
I believe, one day, I will tell a story about an amazing journey that started in a small humble apartment in New York. In my destitution, I learned the importance of building character, working hard, and being thankful for what I have.

After Election Day, I started writing a blog (http://thenewrepublicans.net) about how the Republican party should “reinvent” itself while staying true to its core convictions. People of all different creeds – Democrat, Independent, Republican and Libertarian – have joined in a thoughtful and engaging discussion on the modern day challenges that America faces now. The forum is connecting people nationally.

From education reform to the economy, each entry invites readers to discuss important issues that will shape our country for generations. If as Americans we start becoming more involved at the grassroots level, we can begin to influence the public debate.

In my forum called New Republican, I recently discussed how the future of America rests on education reform. Only 53% of high school graduates in the US enter college and 35% graduate from college, according to the American Youth Policy Forum. The majority of children around the world are outperforming American children in Math and Science (Center for Public Education). Of all the industrialized countries, only children in the United States are less likely to graduate from high school than their parents were. 17 of the 50 largest cities have graduation rates under 50 percent, with 1.2 million American students dropping out each year.

I respectfully invite you to join in this open-minded discussion. I have been humbled by the interest of so many. The forum received nearly 3,000 hits in the first week, and hundreds of visits per day. With the worst economy since the Great Depression and other challenges that America must deal with now, Martin Luther King Jr.’s words were never truer, “We are confronted with the fierce urgency of now.” If we join together, we will confront the modern-day challenges and begin to influence the public debate.

US Rebublican Sarah Palin wooed for $11m book deal

New chapter ... publishers are lining up to sign Sarah Palin to a book deal that could earn her a fortune.
SHE failed to save John McCain from presidential election doom, but Sarah Palin, the losing Republican senator's controversial running mate, may yet emerge as an unlikely saviour of the US publishing industry.
Literary agents are queueing to sign Ms Palin to a book deal that could earn her up to $US7 million ($10.8 million), The Australian reports.

I hope you'll add these to your blogs to follow!

Hate to say this again, but just so you know, the stupid blogroll is STILL down. I may have to bite the bullet and pay someone to make a blogroll for us.

The Read My Lipstick Network is on Facebook and MySpace! We sent out an invite to a bunch of you, hopefully all, but there are so many email addresses it's possible we overlooked one or two. If you're on either, please look us up and join. There's a link to Facebook on our main site, www.readmylipsticknetwork.com. I'll add one to MySpace just as soon as I figure out how.

I'm still trying to figure out why we'd want to be on either , but hey, it's too late to back out now. If we're going to take over the Internet for Sarah and conservatives, we gotta do it all... I guess when my clone gets back from vacation I'll have her set up a Yahoo Group for us, too.

Great new site...

I know a lot of you are active on Team Sarah (hope you've joined our group on it). There's another really great ning network set up that is geared specifically to getting Sarah elected in 2012. Its: http://sarahpalin2012.ning.com/

I've set up a group on there, too, and will be active in helping it grow.

I hope you'll go check it out, join, and start working with this active group of individuals who are working night and day to get Sarah into the White House!!!

Obama had over 3 million working for him on the Internet. We need to double that number and then keep on going...

Five, yes FIVE, new members!

We owe an apology to a couple of these new blogs as they actually asked to join a while back and got lost in the fray... We're trying to keep up! I'd like to ask that all of you visit www.readmylipsticknetwork.com and make sure we have your blog listed (this page has an alphabetical list: http://www.readmylipsticknetwork.com/blogs-rss/-directory.htm)!

All the more reason to have an Internet Infantry!

OK, I wasn't just a day late and a dollar short... I was woefully behind with my early morning epiphany about an Internet Army... This was in a group of stories someone sent to me before I posted my blog about the Internet Army, but I didn't read it until afterwards. This must mean there's some merit to my idea, right???? Please read the article, you'll see why it is SO critical that we all keep blogging, keep networking and keep working to out-Internet Egobama's crew:

How will President Obama deploy his Internet army?
By Frank Greve McClatchy Newspapers
WASHINGTON — A powerful new lobbying force is coming to town: Barack Obama's triumphant army of 3.1 million Internet-linked donors and volunteers.
In a mass e-mail thanking them, written moments before his Grant Park victory speech, Obama put them on notice. "We have a lot to do to get our country back on track, and I'll be in touch soon about what comes next," he wrote...

From Carlos, Let's Get It Right

I've just signed a petition expressing my appreciation to Governor Sarah Palin for the terrific job she did as the Republican candidate for Vice President. I'd like to invite you to sign the petition too. We need to let Governor Palin know that we support her good efforts in the recent campaign and do not buy into the smear campaign against her that is being conducted by anonymous Washington insiders in the McCain campaign.

Please go to http://pmcms.conservativehq.com/active-petitions/appreciationtosarahpalin111208/ to sign the petition to Sarah Palin. Thanks!

Internet Infantry

The ranks of our Internet Infantry for Sarah and Conservative Values keeps growing! How's that for a title? I tried to set up Internet Army, but someone already had it... so I went with Internet Infantry. Have no idea what I'm going to do with it, but I woke up this morning thinking about how we were building an Internet army. I thought it was a cool title for a blog and thus, once I had my first cup of hot tea, I tried.

If you're out wandering around the Internet, reading blogs, seeing the new websites popping up all over the place, you have to be excited about the, well, the excitement . I'm talking with so many different networks and movements that are growing daily, getting their ducks in a row, setting up shop for the next elections.

Yes, it's also scary as I read all the speculation and facts that are bubbling up about Egobama. If one half of what is being said about him is true we are in for some bad times these next few years.

The goal right now of the Democratic Party is to decimate the Republican Party, make them completely irrelevant. If we lose that balance, there will be no stopping the rampant run to socialism.

Even if you're not in Georgia or Minnesota, please get involved in those two races. There's not much you can do for Norm Coleman since that's in the hands of the powers that be as they do the recount. It's not looking good with an ACORN advocate in charge. However, I know the Republican Party and / or Norm Coleman could use a few dollars to help pay attorneys to watch over the recount and litigate if needed. If you are an attorney you might want to volunteer your time.

In Georgia, foot soldiers are needed. Money is needed. Phone calls, letters, any kind of help. Google Saxby Chambliss, the Republican National Committee or the Georgia Republican Party and do what you can to help.

That's enough for an early morning rant!!!

Go check out Draft Sarah Palin for VP

Adam was the lone voice for a while, way back before there was an election, promoting Sarah Palin. He is a star and I hope all of you will be sure to "follow" his blog! He's re-tooling and gearing up for the next election.

Back from the doctor...

Bit the bullet and went to the doctor. Good thing I did, she said I'd have gotten nothing but worse and may have landed in the hospital. If we hadn't had tickets to see Celtic Thunder tomorrow night I wouldn't have gone. So now I'm going to be miraculously better by tomorrow night! Riiiiighttttt.... even the doc laughed at that one. I'm going anyway.

Sunday there's going to be a FairTax Rally in Gwinnett County, Georgia with Mike Huckabee, Sen. Saxby Chambliss, Rep. John Linder, talk show host Neal Boortz and others. If I'm feeling up to it I may go... I'll share photos if I do get to go.

I was privileged to have a one-on-one interview with Huckabee back when he was running for President. Nice man, makes you feel like you're the only person in the room when he's talking with you.

The REAL reason I'm writing is to first say thanks to those of you who wished me good health!

And secondly, to tell you about a few new exciting (depending on how easily you get excited) things on our new website (www.readmylipsticknetwork.com).

We have a Member MAP that allows you to add your location. I thought it was a kind of cool thing to have! If you'll go to the site, click on Member Map on the sidebar, you can add your location. If you don't want to use your name please add your blog name (you can do both if you'd like).

The OTHER thing we've added is a bunch of sidebar photos and items for you to use if you'd like. We'll be adding more and more stuff so you'll want to check back. Right now we have four pages of photos and buttons. Click on Photos / Videos and you'll see the link.

We have a full list on our website, which is up and running: http://www.readmylipsticknetwork.com/. Be sure to check it out and make sure we haven't overlooked your blog or made an error in the name or URL. There are two places you're listed, one is "Read our Blogs", the other is "Member List". Other Palin for Prez sites

Since I posted that last bit about Sarah for President 2012 I've rec'd a number of comments with other sites promoting her in 2012.

The sites I listed in that blog are those where I know the owners and the Read My Lipstick Network is partnering with to some degree. They are members of the Network and / or have our blogroll and / or logo link on their sites.

We will be happy to add all Palin supporting or conservative leaning blogs to the Network membership. Please consider joining the Network and we'll promote your site, too! (It's free, all you have to do is post our blogroll on your sidebar or the front page of your site).

There's information at the top of the blog telling you how to join.

Thanks to ALL, member or not, who are out there working hard to support Sarah Palin and / or conservative causes. We are going to need to pull together over these next few years to survive what's already in the works by the upcoming administration.

So MS-NBC finally owned up to getting the Palin smears from a fake source. They were contacted by a man claiming to be Martin Eisenstadt, the McCain policy adviser who leaked the FOX News story about Palin not knowing Africa was a continent. The Times elaborates.

Sarah for President 2012

Here's the update on all that's going on in that regard...

Sarah was asked in her interview with Greta Van Susteren, Wolf Blitzer and Larry King whether she would run for President. She basically said she's willing to walk through any door God opens for her, can't say what will be happening in the next few years, something along those lines.

Pretty much she's keeping her options open. Right now she's trying to do damage control.

(Side note: It turns out that (surprise, shock) the Couric interview was a hack job. When you read the transcript, which is now floating around on the Internet, it becomes real clear how they chose bits and pieces to paint the image they wanted of Sarah.)

There are a LOT of groups forming to support her for President in 2012.

This is very similar to what happened starting a year or so ago with the effort to have her chosen to be VP except this time those brave folks have tons of company! Now that the world has seen her, many are just as impressed as Adam Brinkley, Paul Zannucci, Steve Maloney and others were with her before all of us "met" her.

If you'd like to support her and encourage her to run for President in 2012, you'll have plenty of company. Here's a few I recommend:

www.sarah-cuda2012.com
www.sarahforpresident2012.us
http://draftpalin2012.blogspot.com
www.draftpalinforpresident.com

Of course, Team Sarah (.org) is on fire for Sarah. I am finding that I don't have enough time in the day to keep up with chatting on there right now, although we do have a group (Read My Lipstick Network). I'll be popping in and out.

If you have a Sarah Palin centric blog, I'd encourage you to keep it. You may want to leave the address as is, but change the title to include 2012. However, know that there is also a possibility that Sarah MAY end up a Senator. Very slim. But it is another door that may open for her. I'll talk more about that later. Right now I have a major head cold or flu or something and I'm not sure I'm making complete sense as I type...

Happy Blogging!

Update on Sarah Palin Appreciation Day

Looks like the info I gave you on the Nov. 24th Sarah Palin Appreciation Day is not on the main website. They send out email updates, guess ya gotta be a member... Here's what they wrote:
Sarah Palin has made history and she is a rising star in the Republican
Party. She made history as the Party's first female vice presidential
candidate. With a direct approach and dynamic personality, she was a powerful
force on the campaign trail. Sarah, as she is often affectionately called, is
energetic, enthusiastic, intelligent, courageous and a strong leader. She
has endured numerous attacks from the media and the pubic, but has handled her
attackers with dignity and grace. Sarah, we are proud of you!

Stop Obama in Georgia

As most of you know, Georgia's election is still in play. Incumbent Republican Saxby Chambliss is in a run-off against Democrat Jim Martin. There will be a run-off on December 2nd, primarily because Georgia requires a 50% plus one win. Saxby missed winning by less than 1% due to a Libertarian candidate taking a chunk of votes. I'm not begrudging having a Libertarian in the race by any means, but it would have been a bit easier if he or Martin had taken just 1% fewer votes!

As I type I understand that Republican Norm Coleman is down to a 206 win against Democrat Al Franken in Minnesota. Who knows what will happen when they get to the official recount of votes? I'm hoping Coleman will hang in there, but it seems there have been quite a few questionable happenings already. The attempts to steal the election continue!

The Democrats desperately need a win in Georgia and Minnesota to ensure a filibuster-proof majority.

The Democratic Party is going to throw everything they have at Georgia. Having managed campaigns, I know how difficult it is to win in a run-off. People aren't engaged and usually only the die-hard voters come out. The guy on top often loses simply because everyone figures he / she has it made.

Georgia is going to need the support of every single one of you and a million more like you! The two bits below were sent out from NewsMax. They both ask for money, which is fine if that's what you'd like to do. I think what will be needed most is foot-soldiers. We'll need people making phone calls. We'll need you to contact your friends and distant relatives. We'll need you knocking on doors if you can spare some time.

If you'd like to help you can donate below, or visit www.saxby.org and sign up to help. I'm sure the Republican National Committee and the Georgia Republican Party would also be happy to have your help. We have to make one final push to stop Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Franks and friends from ripping the Constitution to shreds.

The Election Is Not Over
By Dick Morris and Eileen McGann

Barack Obama has been elected president, but the Senate has not been fully chosen.
Hanging in the balance is, perhaps, the fate of the center-right free market system that has brought America decades of success and prosperity.

The Democrats now have 57 senators, having gained open seats in New Mexico, Colorado, and Virginia and having defeated Republican incumbents in New Hampshire (Sununu), North Carolina (Dole), and Oregon (Smith). But races in Minnesota and Alaska will be decided by recounts.

Republicans are leading in both but, particularly in Minnesota, the margin is too thin for comfort. And, in Georgia, Republican incumbent Saxby Chambliss was forced into a runoff against his Democratic opponent, Jim Martin.

We can’t do much about Minnesota and Alaska, but we sure can do a lot to hold onto the seat in Georgia. And it just might be that seat that marks whether or not we will be able to sustain a filibuster of Obama’s socialist legislation.

If the Democrats prevail in Minnesota and Alaska, they will have 59 seats. Chambliss’ could be the 60th.

If there is one lesson that is plain from the election, it is that conservatism is too important to trust to the Republican Party! A runoff election is a get-out-the-vote contest, and the Republican Party has proven woefully inept at such matters. In the election, the proportion of the vote cast by Republicans dropped from 1.3 percent above the Democrats to 2.6 percent below them.

The Democrats won the election of 2008 because they got their vote out and the Republicans lost it because they did not.

The same thing can happen in Georgia.

Conservatives should go online, right now, and donate to www.GOPtrust.com.

Only a group like this one, The National Republican Trust PAC, which sponsored the Rev. Wright ads that delivered all the undecided vote to McCain in the election, has the flexibility and focus to do what the Republican Party should be doing on its own. And we cannot sit back and let complaisance and over confidence lead us to another election day debacle.

Georgia went for McCain, of course, but it is ominous that even though the Republicans carried the state by 6 points, Chambliss fell short of the vote he needed to avoid a runoff.

To assure that the Democrat — a liberal named Jim Martin —doesn’t win this seat, too, we have to mobilize to get Georgians to see Martin for the liberal he is. Martin is a straight party-line Democrat who can be counted on to do Harry Reid’s bidding. It is time to discard to lame approach Republicans so often take and come out swinging.

That’s what www.GOPtrust.com plans to do if they get enough in voluntary donations.

The Obama victory really started with the organization of MoveOn.org in the bitter climate of Clinton’s impeachment. Since then, the left-wing cyber-roots groups have amassed millions of e-names, piled up hundreds of millions in contributions, and mobilized and expanded their base.

It is through groups like www.GOPtrust.com that we, conservatives, must rely on if we are to take our country back.

But right now, the key battleground is Georgia, and we have to hold the line there.

-----

Note from the National Republican Trust PAC:

As we speak the Democratic party and groups like MoveOn.org are preparing to move millions of dollars and thousands of volunteers into Georgia to defeat Republican Saxby Chambliss and put his pro-Obama opponent into the Senate. We can stop Obama and the Democrats. Our effort is crucial because voter turn-out may be low. Please donate to us today by Going Here Now or call our Donor Hotline at 1-866-957-1467

Bloggers for Sarah Palin --- It's time to VOTE again!!!

Sarah is going to be on Larry King Live tonight. There is a poll at this location: http://www.cnn.com/CNN/Programs/larry.king.live/ asking whether Sarah cost McCain the election. Go VOTE. Right now 53% say No, but there haven't been that many votes. Let's go blow 'em away and give her our support!

Race Card Trumps EVERYTHING!
http://www.LloydMarcus.net

90% of the black vote went to Obama. Many blacks said they voted for him because he is black. They boldly and unapologetically made a totally racist choice. 10% of black voters, of which I am included, voted based on qualifications, character and ideology. Race and gender were irrelevant. I thought this is what the Civil Rights Movement was all about and why Dr King gave his life.

And yet my family and friends are genuinely baffled by me not voting for Obama. Call me paranoid, but I think they're planning an intervention; throw a sack over my head and haul me away in a van to an undisclosed location. They'll deprive me of food, sleep and limit my use of the bathroom. A “counselor” will say, “Repeat after me Lloyd...liberals are my friend. I am a victim of THE MAN! America sucks! Urban rappers are wise and articulate.”

Black racism is not only accepted in America today, it is encouraged and even demanded in certain circles. Blacks who do not have a chip on their shoulder or harbor, at least a minimal, resentment toward whites are called Uncle Tom. Such blacks must be fixed or punished.
Late in the campaign, it became clear that who Obama is or what he is going to do once in the White House matters little to his followers. It is all about race. Obama being the first black candidate trumped everything.

The Race Card trumped everything in the OJ trial. Despite overwhelming evidence that OJ practically beheaded the mother of his children and stabbed an innocent young man to death, it didn't matter because OJ was black. His victims were white. The OJ trial became Affirmative Action for the mistreatment of blacks in American courts. When the verdict came in, 'not guilty', black America cheered. OJ's race even trumped him being a murderer. Again, I found myself on the opposite side of my family, friends and most of black America.

So, now we have our first black president. We're expected to ignore that he has known ties to terrorists. He has known ties to a corrupt far left political organization. His abortion views equal infanticide. He attended an anti-American racist church for 20 years. Talk about a thin resume; Obama went from community organizer to 143 days in the Senate to president of the United States. And yet, none of this matters. Obama's skin color trumps everything because America wanted it's first black president. I've heard it said, “Be careful what you wish for”.

Don't dismiss Palin over beauty pageant role
Thursday, October 09, 2008

We've all seen the barely veiled derision in one form or another. That teensy little sneer on the face or in the voice of the announcer as he or she makes reference to Sarah Palin as a "former beauty queen."

Or the political cartoons of the reform-minded governor wearing a pageant sash, crown, big toothy smile and a vacuous expression.

Or the video created by "Republicans for Obama," which flips between clips of the Charlie Gibson interview and an embarrassing performance by a blonde Miss Teen USA contestant stumbling over a geography question, unfairly contrasting a clueless, petrified teenager with the sitting governor of America's largest state (in square miles, of course).

Feminists and the media and anyone else who wants to diminish Palin's accomplishments love to hearken back to Sarah's pageant days. She's clueless, they say, about women's issues because she participated in the world's most demeaning experience for a woman -- gasp, a beauty pageant.

Even worse, she almost won, coming in second in the 1984 Miss Alaska Pageant, a Miss America preliminary. How could she allow herself to be exploited like that, they say, to enable the objectification of women?

It brings to mind those old "Please don't hate me because I'm beautiful" commercials. It seems that a lot of Americans, including many in the media and some self-identified "feminists," are doing just that.

As usual, they're missing the irony. They dismiss Palin because they think she's too pretty to have substance. Cheerleaders, prom queens, bathing beauties and natural blondes to the back of the bus, please. Only unattractive -- and therefore smarter, better and infinitely more worthy women -- need apply. Everyone knows that pretty women are frivolous, foolish, flighty and, above all, not what feminism is all about (especially if they're pro-life or a Republican).

But wasn't feminism supposed to be about unlimited opportunity for ALL women? The term "bathing beauty" never applied to contestants in the Miss America Pageant system anyway. It applied to Miss USA, truly a "bathing beauty" contest created by Catalina Sportswear to market their bathing suits, and eventually grew up to be Miss Universe.

The difference is like comparing, well, a caribou to a polar bear. There's a universe of difference between Miss USA/Miss Universe and Miss America. Palin, along with thousands of other young American women (up to 12,000 each year), competed in a Miss America affiliated scholarship pageant, with the key word being "scholarship."

The Miss America Scholarship Program, along with its state and local affiliates, is the largest provider of scholarships to women in the world -- up to $45 million annually since Bess Myerson won the first scholarship in 1945. Scholarships are awarded at every level of pageant participation, from Miss Wasilla right up to Miss America. And it's not only title winners who are awarded scholarships.

Miss America contestants must display intelligence, personal and communication skills, poise, talent and a commitment to community service. Appearance counts for only 35 percent of a contestant's score -- 65 percent is based on a personal interview which tests intelligence, knowledge of current events and motivation, a talent performance and an on-stage question.
It's about much more than just being "pretty" -- and, frankly, it beats flipping burgers to earn money for school. It teaches the participants valuable skills which will serve them in later life. And since the addition of the "platform" aspect of the pageant in 1989, thousands of contestants have focused their abilities and the resources of the pageant to promote important causes like homelessness, domestic violence, literacy and HIV/AIDS prevention, to mention only a few.

It would be ridiculous to suggest that being a pageant veteran alone qualifies Sarah Palin for public office. But she shouldn't be dismissed for it, either. And she probably has her pageant experience to thank for at least some of that unflappable poise and self-confidence. Trust me, once you've gotten up the nerve to walk past a panel of judges in a bathing suit, hostile reporters are child's play.

So, to paraphrase the old ad, "Please don't dismiss her because she's beautiful."

Because if attractive women need not apply for power positions in American politics, we just might end up with Rosie O'Donnell as our first female president.

DONNA BAVER ROVITO of Allentown served on the board of the Miss Keystone Pageant, a preliminary Miss Pennsylvania Scholarship Pageant.

Republican for a Reason

Thanks to Pink Elephant Pundit (http://pinkelephantpundit.com) for finding and sharing info on the following:

The Republican National Committee (RNC) has set up a website to solicit your thoughts and ideas on how to move forward. Here's the link: http://www.republicanforareason.com/intro.aspx. This is what's posted on the intro page:

Welcome to our newest grassroots Web site, Republican For A Reason.

As we regroup as a Party after the presidential election, we must reflect on what we have done well and what we can improve upon as we move forward.

The Republican Party has always been the Party of hope and the Party of ideas. I strongly believe we will continue in this tradition as we work to the future. I thank everyone who volunteered their time, resources, and energy to elect John McCain, Sarah Palin and Republican candidates up and down the ticket.

While we must acknowledge 2008 was a challenging year, we were able to hold critical House and Senate seats, raise more resources than ever before, and make gains in critical areas that would not have been met without your tireless efforts.

Moving forward and right here, you have the opportunity to reflect on the reasons why you are a proud Republican. Please tell us what you would like to see the Party focus on and address in the coming weeks and months.

To learn more about the principles of the Republican Party, read our Party rules and Party platform ratified during the 2008 Republican National Convention in Minnesota.

I look forward to your input and your ideas.
Best wishes,
Robert M. "Mike" Duncan
Chairman, Republican National Committee

If this keeps going we'll be holding elections for President in 2010 and boot the current interloper out early . We'll be adding the site to our blogroll (if we can ever get in to edit the thing! I'm open to another solution if someone out there is good with code or knows another site that hosts blogrolls at no cost).

I heard a tidbit of info which is probably being blasted all over the world today... Egobama met with President Bush privately and felt the need to share the confidential conversation with the world?

In his first speech Egobama dumps on Nancy Reagan. Then he follows up by feeling the need to puff his own ego up by sharing confidences? Why doesn't he just wear a transmitter and share everything?

The reason the above may be old new to you guys but new to me is I went on blog, radio and TV silence this morning. Had to take a sanity break... seems like the biblical verses regarding wars and rumors of wars, etc., etc. is in full force at the moment. Nothing but bad news every which way I look.

Continuing to grow!

FIVE, count 'em, five new blogs and /or websites are joining our ranks! It's amazing how many of us there are out there blogging our hearts out for the future!

Sarah is going to be in Miami!

Carlos from the "Let's Get It Right" blog is reporting that Sarah is going to be in Miami (see link to his blog below). I'd like to urge all of our members who live in the Miami area to coordinate with him to see if we can help counter the protesters that we KNOW will be there. Join Carlos in giving Sarah a warm welcome!!! Click "Coming to Miami" to visit his blog and comment. I wish I lived a bit closer!

Coming to Miami
The Anchorage Daily News is reporting and confirming the following: Less than a week after returning home from the campaign trail, Gov. Sarah Palin is headed out of state again, this time to Miami. She'll be the shiniest star at the annual Republican Governors Association meeting Thursday and Friday. Palin will hold a press conference Thursday at the convention and then will appear on a panel titled "Looking Toward the Future." The panel's conservative luminaries -- Palin is the only woman -- will include retired Army Gen. Tommy Franks, Rep. Mike Pence, R-Indiana, New York Times columnist William Kristol, Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty and South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford....

Vice presidential Candidate filing lawsuit against Obama

Contact: Steve Marquis
Email Address: peoplesvoice@peoplespassions.org
Web site address: http://peoplespassions.org
Wiley S. Drake, Sr. wileydrake@hotmail.com

Vice presidential Candidate Wiley S. Drake Sr. to file in court asking to de-certify Barack Obama because he has refused to release proof of being a Natural Born Citizen, thereby disqualifying Obama in his bid for the Office of President.

The recent Lawsuit in Washington State demanding their Secretary of State to vet the citizenship credentials of Barack Obama has spawned a slew of similar suits with new lawsuits filed and/or prepared in WA, FL, NC, CO, CA, OH, FL, CT, GA, TX, MI. Related lawsuits HI, US District.

As part of this effort, this group of citizens from states across the union made an outreach to the whole presidential slate asking each candidate for president and vice president to offer up a certified copy of their birth certificates and any related candidate declarations to be placed in a library made available to the public via a non-partisan web site.

At least one VP candidate Wiley S. Drake Sr. went the next step and agreed to file a lawsuit of his own to demand the disqualification of Barack Obama unless he can prove status as a ”Natural Born Citizen” as the constitution and federal statues demand and define.

In another unrelated action, though also aimed at forcing Obama to release proof or step down, 24 potential Electoral College electors are filing action Monday morning in court also demanding proof. A call is herein being issued to any elector in any state, especially democrat electors who would like to join that effort. Electors interested in adding their name to this lawsuit can contact Mr. Marquis who will put you in contact with the attorney handling that case.

Egobama 2

Egobama was taken on Blogger (one post only back on Sept. 11th... but they did beat us to the title ;-), so we set it up on Word Press. http://egobama.wordpress.com. Nothing on there yet, but we have the name.

I also created http://presidentegobama.blogspot.com. Not sure which one I'll use.

We're trying to develop an email list of members of the Read My Lipstick Network. In the early days we didn't capture everyone's email addresses. If you have NOT rec'd one of our group emails please send an email message with the name of your blog to readmylipstick at live.com so we can add you to the list.

There are some things in the works that should only be shared in private, not on this public blog.

Thanks,
Janet

Egobama

One of our members coined the name "Egobama" and I love it! What a brilliant group of writers we have...

Another member brought the fact that Antigua is going to rename a mountain in honor of Egobama (Mount Obama)...

And I just read on Michelle Malkin's blog that www.cjonline.com (which was down when I tried to get there, probably due to all the traffic trying to hit their site) has a story saying there's a push to make a national holiday in Obama's honor...

Kenya took the day off to celebrate his victory...

I'm going to start a site (with permission) titled Egobama (if it's available). We'll post things on there like the items above.

Operation Leper

We've all been blasting those turn-coat liars who've been attacking Sarah Palin and we should continue to go after them. I think we need to make sure they never work in politics (or anywhere with any responsibility) again. If they'll turn on their bosses in this instance, who'd want to take a chance on them anyway???

Here are some posts from some of our member bloggers and other sites on the subject that you may want to read:

Endorsement: Operation Leper
I'm not even going to bother to comment on the disgusting load of hooey being spread in the media today by "anonymous McCain staffers". To address that sort of hateful garbage would be to dignify it, and I will not do that.I will however, point you in the direction of RedState.com's "Operation Leper", which was posted earlier today. While the idea sounds a little malicious, I think it is worth pursuing in this particular case. Staffers who tear down their candidate the day after the election (likely on false premises), should not have a place in the GOP....

Operation Leper - and more
These "patently false" lies (that's CNN's description, see Campbell Brown) now being spread by McCain staffers deserve a response - but not from Palin. The response should come from us and it already has a name: Operation Leper. The Palin blogosphere is livid and all have signed on and I urge your support as well.Folks, Palin is not about the Republican base or even any party - this is about you and I...

I wouldn't hire them...
I've done a lot of hiring (and a little bit of firing) over the years working in corporate America. One of the rules I had when I interviewed someone for a prospective job was that if they badmouthed their current or previous employer or boss in any way, I wouldn't hire them. In fact, I found some way to shorten the interview and get them out of my office. If someone will badmouth the employer they're leaving then what's to stop them from badmouthing me, my staff, or my company in the future? It says something about their outlook on life and work ethic...

Operation Leper

RedState is pleased to announce it is engaging in a special project: Operation Leper.
We're tracking down all the people from the McCain campaign now whispering smears against Governor Palin to Carl Cameron and others. Michelle Malkin has the details.
We intend to constantly remind the base about these people, monitor who they are working for, and, when 2012 rolls around, see which candidates hire them. Naturally then, you'll see us go to war against those candidates...

The McCain campaign’s classless cowards; Update: Palin reacts

Palin holds press conference in Anchorage after arriving late on her flight from Arizona…refuses to comment on gossip spread by unnamed sources and “small, bitter” people saying “foolish things”…on relationship with McCain: No tension. “I love him…I honor him”…jokes that charges that she was “going rogue” referred to her sneaking in return phone calls to reporters...
